Pregnancy System
Last Updated: January 7th, 2020
------------------------------------------------

Note: The pregnancy system requires mature content to be enabled. It does not interface with AAF, and as such, neither derives its function on it and in fact, if Family Planning Enhanced is found to be installed, CAP will shut the pregnancy system down so as to prevent conflicts. This system does not feature animations nor does it allow for anything other than adult human females to carry and deliver babies.

Pregnancy body alterations use the CBBE body and slider names. In order for you to see body (and clothing) alterations on pregnant NPCs (or the player), you will need to build the female body in CBBE with the BUILD MORPHS checkbox enabled. If you wish to have clothing affected as well, you will need to batch build all of your clothing and armor items with the BUILD MORPHS checkbox enabled as well.

However, you do NOT need to build the morphs for the body mesh and clothing items in order for the system to work. Simply, if you do not build morphs, the NPCs (and player) will still get pregnant, but it won't show the body alterations during the 9 "month" cycle. Babies will still be born.

Later, I will look the add support for the slider set for Fex/Fusion Girl.

How It Works:

This system has a few layers to it's functionality.

1) Settlement Pregnancies - When you enter an owned settlement location, CAP will scan for available human females that are not currently pregnant and then scan for an available human male. If both are found, based on chances set in the MCM, the mod will make the female pregnant and will notify you that a settler has become pregnant (if you have notices enabled in the MCM). When a settler is pregnant, she will show belly growth as the pregnancy advances. When the baby is born, the settler will revert to normal and will have a baby item in their inventory. You can either leave it there or take it, to place it yourself in a crib. If you leave the baby in the mother's inventory, it will grow on its own into a settlement child, which will then grow into an adult settler that is automatically assigned to the settlement it was born and raised in. Should you choose to take the baby and place it in a crib, the same sequence of events will occur. Pregnancy length and growth length can be set in the MCM and do not reflect a real-world time scale for such events.

2) Syringer Darts - Originally used as a test mechanism, there are pregnancy syringer darts in the CRIME AND PUNISHMENT crafting menu of the chemlab. You need simply target a non-pregnant, human adult female settler, shoot her with the dart and she will become pregnant. Again, this was originally intended for testing purposes but left in the mod for those that wanted to control growth themselves rather than using the settlement system. NOTE: It is not recommended that you run around shooting every settler in the game, unless you want to run risks of over-resouorcing the script that controls everything.

3) Player Pregnancy - If you have options for this enabled, the female player character can get pregnant during solicitation events as well as when sleeping with a romanced companion, via the Lover's Embrace perk. Conversely, male players can get their female romanced companions pregnant in the same way. When the player is pregnant, they will have a baby added to their inventory when birth occurs. This baby must be placed into a crib, in an owned settlement, in order for it's growth scripting to take effect. Simply locate any of the vanilla crib items in the decorations MISC build menu and then stand in front of it, access your pipboy and "drop" the baby. This will place the baby into the crib, properly aligned, where they will remain until they grow into a child. Children of the player have an added immersion added to them in that their dialogue will reflect the parent child relationship with them calling the player mom or dad when greeting them.

When the player is due to deliver a baby, they will be notified that they need to see a doctor. At that point, you will have a period of time to do so, otherwise, the baby will be born where you are.

Contraception:

The mod includes a few contraceptive options, one craftable in the chemlab, others which can only be purchased from vendors and doctors, or found in mirrors, suitcases and bedroom dressers.

1) Protection Item - this is intended to be a condom, but can be more generic than that as a female player could get female clients via solicitation. This item serves two purposes. One, to prevent pregnancies between opposite gendered pairings, and also, to prevent Wastelander's Rash, which is an STD that the player can randomly catch from solicitation clients when not protected. Wastelander's Rash can be cured by visiting a doctor and asking them to HEAL YOU. This item may be crafted in the CRIME AND PUNISHMENT chemlab menu.

2) Birth Control Pills - these must be consumed and will protect a female player for a period of time against getting pregnant. They will not prevent STDs.

3) Morning After Pill - this pill can be purchased and will remove a pregnancy from the player only. It will not affect anyone else in the game. For those moments when you really didn't want to be pregnant or forgot the system was on and did not wish to use it.

As a note, if you place protection items or birth control pills in companion's inventory, Lover's Embrace pregnancies will not occur.
