I am happy to report that I have restored most of the lost progress in the update that got lost. AND THEN SOME!
Huge focus on balancing/gameplay/bug fixing. Everything has a lot more polish now, runs smoother, and there's so much more content and fleshed out features. Too much to go in on here.
Most enemy encounters have been completely redone.
Lots of new features and items.
Whole new and way more immersive air support/artillery system with more variety including mortars, rocket artillery, normal artillery, terror bombs, biological weapons, napalm strikes and everyone's favourite feature: Paratroopers. Except now they can also spawn dynamically by enemy officers.
Lots of improvements to AI. They now employ varied tactics and use proper firing positions.
A huge facelift to a lot of uniforms/factions/appearances.
Most weapons are being gradually reworked to feel more satisfying.
Lots of new perks.
Lots of new random encounter events. Including infiltrators, gangsters, black regiment troops, and a bunch of other crazy things.
Gameplay expansion focusing more on espionage and intel gathering.
New Hazmat system. You need protective equipment to handle radioactive materials and nuclear weapons.
Two new locations.
A whole new cooking system with hunting/survival/food scarcity in mind.
Lots of new consumable items that are intended to actually be rewarding and worthwhile.
Lots of new ingredients for cooking such as different kinds of herbs/spices that offer cool advantages.
Expanded save system. Now you can use lucky charms to save at any time, or cigarettes to save when you're not in combat. This makes progress less punishing/daunting.
Lots of cool/improved visuals and cinematic effects.
New settlement features.
RTS system has been restored.
All textures have been fixed/tweaked/improved. No more black lines.
Several new weapons and armour.
New and fully functional night vision goggles with very realistic visuals.
HUUUGE expansion/overhaul to the game's sound system. Ambient sounds are now far more powerful and environmentally aware. The game will dynamically play appropriate sounds based on your surroundings.
Are you in a friendly settlement in a region that's been captured by your forces? Enjoy some peaceful bird songs, gentle wind or perhaps wolves howling at night.
Are you in a dense area with lots of enemy activity?Prepare for sirens, distant gunshots, screams and loudspeakers barking orders and propaganda. Are you in a crowded area full of civilians or allied troops? Then you'll hear foleys in the distance of moving objects, doors, people using tools and utencils, someone dropping something, etc.
Are you in the forest with a nearby patrol? Hear the rustling of bushes, and twigs snapping under their boots.
And are you standing in the aftermath of a terrible battle? Feel the dense and eerie silence of it all now that ingame characters suddenly become more present.
New alarm system. Just hook it up to your favourite settlement, and it will sound off if there's enemies nearby. It stops after about 2 minutes, and can be reset in just a few seconds.
