    I found this for sale at Amazon -- $50. They gotta be kidding. I suppose it's a collector's item now. I'm afraid to look for an original lava lamp. (I might be tempted to buy it.)

    @ Hangman - Thanks. Hammersmcp says you can buy one now for $15. Sounds like a good deal.

    @ hammer - $15. I think I have just the spot for it.

    @ rth - I started selecting some locations. I think I may do it in B&W.

    @ jacob - There is a lot of nostalgia for such things -- even among the younger generation. I remember how mad my son was when I gave my old tube type stereo and vinyl to Goodwill.I built the speakers myself - 15" woofers. I still have the Heathkit turntable -- my wife wanted to keep her 45's.

    @ Wolf - Those were the days. Yeah, black lamps too. Did some fun things with bright white colors.

    @ john - Oh yeah, no house was complete without one in the '70s.

      I always thought Lavalamps were cool. I had an uncle in the early seventies who made them. Did very well for himself,...
      Great images also and Jefferson Airplane fits right into the Lavalamp era,...

    It's a good day to remember and hope you had a safe one Cormell. I'm thoroughly impressed with what you're doing with XCinema. The outfits for the guys are killer and I'm glad you're keeping this couple together...at least until they double cross one another. My youngest daughter actually had a lava lamp in her dorm room...until one of the roommates knocked it off the desk. Hadn't seen one in a very long time....like black lights and posters...and acid...and hell I'm glad that's way behind.

    Nice effects.
    Doubtful if any "original" lava lamps would still be functional after 50 years, but you can get a new one in the original style at Amazon for about $15.
