So, Nuked my mod config, a reasonably working config which I blew into smithereens to start fresh, now I hit the wall with a Unigue Player & Companions mod and feel like a burnout for FO4 is fast approaching, I mean right now just a thought of firing up the game is physically painful.

Anyhow, to test things I started a new playthrough with my girl Maria (which will get reset once I get the config sorted), right now there's about a dozen mods in use (there's 35 total installed but nothing uses rest of those at the moment). Also, Proto Vault Suit is so darn cool and it shall stay in use.

As for the Pet Peeve hinted in the caption:
Why can't the player character optionally wear glasses in the pre-war setting and have those glasses carry over to the post-war setting... Maria in my headcanon can't see jack shit without her trusty pair of Rad-Ban Softshell Black. Now I have to resort to console-fu to keep things within my headcanon... I do get that most likely it's not an option due the Perception stat bonus tied to eyeglasses, but IMO giving the option to do that would enhance roleplayability quite a bit. Perhaps I'm just annoyed by everything right now.

But seriously, there should have been an option for one's character to wear glasses before the war. -_-

    I feel your pain. Been there. Even now I'm on one long test and then.....WIndows 10 nukes itself taking most of the test saves and all of SSE saves. I like the idea of a bat file to carry things over. I use and create bat files frequently for testing mod combo's. Hopefully you'll get over the hurtle and soldier on. I'd like to follow Maria's story.

      I dread the day I finally have to cave in and "upgrade" to Windows 10.

      Not gonna quit, just need couple of days away from staring at NMM, pounding head against the brick wall with mods that may or may not be completely FUBAR and making me feel like a bloody idiot.

    It is kind of a drag that your pre-war inventory is wiped. But, a new game really starts from the point of leaving the cryo-chamber. The previous "play" is just the introduction. Nonetheless, I've considered creating a bat file to carry some things over. .

      Considering what's been said about Todd Howard's Less is More philosophy I wouldn't be surprised if ability to pick glasses for PC was in original plan but got cut. Though sure, you do get to pick one of two possible protagonists with their own (barebones, but still) backstories. Personally still I feel that the game sorely needs an option to build PC with glasses from the get go.

      Not sure why this is the thing that gets me so worked up, maybe I just really like girls with glasses...
