Soooo,
I've had this spacesuit idea for my ArcJet Systems player home (from my upcoming mod, DL's Safehouses), and made some customization options like power armor head stuff + ballistic weave + other fun stuff on rebadged Hazmat suit.... back in July (that's how long I've been working on this mod, lol :-/). I've been meaning to work on a new unique texture for it for some time, but kept putting it off as I thought that wasn't something I could do.
Then this weekend, I just said to myself, "Ah, f- it." and started working on it, now that all the player homes are done (finally :-/). This is my first try - what do you think? I think the color scheme works, even though I haven't put any dirt on it yet. The connectors are still Bethesda vanilla ones, and yep, something needs to be done about them. Hopefully I'd find a way to improve on them at my skill level. Plugging up the normal on those spots and designing new ones with proper height map would be ideal, but that's not something I know how to do yet.
Once learned, the basic retexture stuff turned out to be not that difficult to do, however, and I'll be making some more outfits for this mod. I have ArcJet and General Atomics player homes in the set, and I think it would be nice to have some stuff from those companies.
If you want to see different color schemes for the spacesuit, please let me know. I was going to make a few variations anyway, but it would be nice to get some inputs.
About the progress of this mod - I'm in the process of writing holotapes and such, aside from retexturing some assets. I'll be posting the screenshots of more player home locations when the mod is close to be released. I know I keep pushing back the release, but I think it's better to have something very solid out of the gate. Anyway, the mod contains 15 player homes + 1 settlement + 2 quests. All new, built from scratch locations.
Thanks for stopping by. :-)

I know I am taking way too long with this project, but I've always wanted to learn retexture stuff. I have spent so much time making this mod, partly because floors and walls not looking like how I wanted, and being able to make something myself would help me a lot. FO4 assets are pretty much 1) cartoon-ish clean, or 2) completely destroyed, and not much in-between. There are some room pieces which are missing parts to complete matching sets, too.
Oh, about the "group combat" thing for ArcJet player home we talked about some time ago, I am saving that idea for the Boston Strategic Solution. The thing is, the space available for ArcJet is too small to have that many actors in. The BSS on the other hand will teleport the player to different locations in proper quest format using the memory lounger chair. That is something for the future, and not for v1.0, but that sort of portal would allow me to add more contents easily.
Anyway, the other color schemes for the spacesuit I'm thinking to do are orange like the shuttle crew escape suit, and simple blue like the space station crews wear. I like the space program stuff in general, and ArcJet System was something I really wanted to expand on. :-)
Oh yes I remember us talking about the it, I can see what you mean too ArcJet is not very big to have many actors in, even the scene with Danse with all the synths is too confining but using the memory lounger chair and in different locations sounds like a really great idea and is a great idea for adding new content, I have played a couple of mods that use the memory lounger in that way and makes for some very fun and interesting times. I really like the idea of the orange as an another color for the space suit, were you thinking bright orange like an orange or more muted?Looks like you are making great progress and it all takes time.
I will be basing my orange on the real life NASA Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES), but I think it'll be one of those things I just have to try in game to see what looks good. I'm not experienced enough yet to be able to say what exact tone of color that would be, to be honest. It is a color that really pops out, lol, so I have to be very careful with it.
