    It appears that your errant knight Derek and Matilda need to get back to work quickly! I had to go back first and review the previous chapter since it had been awhile. Derek is a character of the first order and possibly a little more than he seems. I hope he is for Annabelle's sake.

      Derek's got a history for sure. He may not be all there due to past trauma, but he's got the general gist of things. Chocolaty center in a twisted, rusted out shell.

      There was another long hiatus with this series due to irl complications, but I've got enough content for the next few chapters so stay tuned!

    *cat swoops in and gives Cav a big hug!* Good to see ya, Cav! Excellent images and dialog--I am growing exceedingly fond of this unlikely duo, especially the gallant Knight Derek. Love Annabelle's expressions.

      Annie's got a lot of heart. She's definitely the more quiet and skeptical of the the pair, but she just hasn't had a chance to find herself yet. Her quest is pretty much absorbing her thoughts at this point, while Derek is far more entertaining.

    Well of course, Derek would name his mini-gun. (Who could forget Brick's Eugene?) Derek is a hoot. I thought he might push that telephone pole over in that one picture. The pictures and story are excellent. And, you left us with an Everest of a cliff hanger.

      I find that Derek is the more loud, verbose type. He definitely overshadows Annie in terms of presence, and even though he's not a subdued character per se, he's still got his secrets. Whether he keeps them intentionally or not is up in the air.

      Thanks for checking in Laird :) Will try to get back into the swing of things and start updating the Survivors more often. Been a rough few months, but I'm back to being in a good place now.
