Good job on the eyes. My attempts never looked quite right -
A narrower FOV such as 30-50 suits character shots quite well. Though to compensate you often need to drag the camera back to get more in shot.
indeed 30-50 works well (even lower than 30 can work, i sometimes use 25 or even 15 on some rare occasions).
though bare in mind that if the fov is too narrow, the camera has to move further back, which can result in some graphical glitches, to a point where shadows dissapear and clothes themselves can start to fade out. so it's a balance ^^
