This is understandable in case of firearm where barrel would be the most visible change, but in the case of Laser or Plasma weapons we can afford to let fantasy go without the "muzzle of reality".
I hate Bethesda's policy in relation to Let's use the existing aset as much as possible.
Best example of this ar Recivers, Capacitors and Barrels for Laser or Plasma weapons, we have so many types but really all the same, no visual changes between Laser or Plasma Automatic Barrel and Improved Automatic Barrel.
For now, I'm finishing over Deliverer, Double Barrel and Combat Shotgun.
Laser, Plasma and Gauss Rifle weapons ar next in preparation along with Minigun.
Laser and Plasma will have the most variety I mean that every Reciver, Barrel etc. will be similar but also a little different to emphasize the changes more clearly.
Plasma Pistol will also be 30-40 percent thinner along the length axis because Vanilla looks like one big misunderstanding compared to previous Fallut games.
Acid Soaker greatest nonsense is a lazy conglomeration Deliverev and Combat Shotgun.

Any thoughts on the unfinished spear gun buried in the game files? There's also some images on this site of unfinished projects to make a single barrel HMG mod for the minigun, which seems like a cool idea. The AK helix mags were just something I posted when I was a bit too buzzed trying to work on an assignment, not really doable without custom animations, but there's apparently a Bizon SMG mod in the works, so maybe its not so absurd.
