Probably not, I'm having trouble figuring out a good formula for a mod to put them in. Right now they're just in a personal mess of a mod. I guess I could cut them out and put them in a more stand-alone mod. I'm a lazy, easily confused weirdo with executive dysfunction and perfectionist tendencies, I'd need some kind of inspiration to get off my ass and decide how I wanna do it and actually do it.
I know my comment is late. But I too would love to see you upload it. I have been looking for a mod like this for CBBE for quite some time and this is extremely well done! However, I completely understand if you do not want to.
These look really nice! I understand your hesitation with releasing them, but I would certainly be excited for it if you decide to. Can never have enough scars, especially using the overlay feature. If you decide against it, I'd love to see a tutorial on how you made the actual scars. I find making new textures for scars to be somewhat challenging.
I'm going to at least look into releasing it. Maybe I could package it as SFW, but then it may feel a bit unseemly if I ever then wanna add anything more sensitive requiring me to recategorize the mod. Though the main hump to get over might just be feature creep - how many types of scars should I add? Should I tackle freckles? Should I tackle body hair? Bruises? Bleeding injuries? Piercings? More fantastical stuff like bioluminescent/cybernetic glows? Should I make it work for male bodies too? Should I try to make custom normal maps for everything? Granted, i could start small and add more later, but then I miss out on getting the strongest amount of early recognition. I'm real lazy and easy to overwhelm, but given the positive response so far, I'll have to at think about it.
Everything you mentioned sounds awesome, though I think you could start with just scarring (and maybe bruising) and get a nice reception. There really aren't any mods that add scarring that isn't a whole skin texture replacement (and I'm rather fond of the skin texture I use). The body hair one is fascinating, as well. I'd love the option to add hair to bodies. I, for one, would love to have it work both for women and men.
Custom normals would be nice, but if they look good, not completely necessary.
Maybe. The project this is a part of is made first and foremost for personal use, so it has some stuff baked into it that are pretty particular to me and would maybe be a bit odd to release. Also I'm not sure I would want to release it until it has some hypothetical "complete" set of features. Not to mention, it would probably involve some amount of NSFW stuff, and I'm honestly pretty little hesitant about having something NSFW on my My Mods page, since I sometimes show that off to friends and family. So I'm not sure. I posted this picture because I was curious if people would react positively to it, which might serve to tempt me to actually release this one way or another. I can probably remember to send you a message if I ever do release this in some form.
If anyone else would really want this, leave a message to encourage me.
Thanks for the response. I understand your hesitation releasing NSFW stuff here if you don't want friends/family seeing it. If that's the case, you could always discretely release it over on LL, but obviously that's completely up to you.
I'd be really interested in this mod because it solves a major issue I've tried to figure out myself in the past, which is how to add body scars to your favourite body texture. I've tried adding them directly to my body texture, but combining the scars' normal maps with the body's existing normal map is a huge pain (and scars don't look great without normal maps). So having them as LooksMenu overlays would be perfect.
If you ever do decide to release it, discretely or otherwise, I'd really appreciate a message.
Release at "LL"? What's that? I'd google, but just two letters is so little info to search on, I'm assuming it'd just return "leveled list" or something.
Looks pretty good Been looking for a body scars mod and I think this is the first one that uses overlays instead of replacing the body textures afaik. Hope you release it! If so, consider adding other types of scars too!
What you see here is the sum of 3 different overlays, 2 of which represent various bullet wounds, and one of which represent various cut and stab wounds. Other ideas I have would be to include bite mark and claw mark scars, maybe something for surgical scars, burn marks, lots of possibilities.

The only thing I would suggest/would like to be added are more scars that look like cuts.
