Another update on my work in progress weapon mod for fallout 4: A redesign of the 12.7mm SMG from New Vegas for Fallout 4!

Finished the base textures and got started on the alternative skins for the gun. Some of these may need to be unlocked by finding schematics in the world. These are only a few of the currently planned ones, with many more to come, including factions (from Fo4 and NV) and camouflage.

Always thought this was an unfortunately unremarkable weapon, playing second fiddle to a lot of other end game automatics in the original, so I wanted to bring it to FO4 in a big way, bringing out its full potential.

As per the wiki, the weapon was based on the Kriss Vector and P90, and I've taken some inspiration from those when designing several of the parts. By swapping parts you can make it lean more towards either inspiration, or something else entirely. Beyond that, I've taken to designing some makeshift/jury-rigged parts for it since its something I really enjoy and can help make it even more customizable.

I've heard a few people questioning how the magazines are gonna work, so I'm just gonna paste the rationale for them here:
It can feed from magazines loaded at the top (P90 style) or the bottom (Vector style), ejects out the right side, and includes a dust cover to protect internals when either magazine slot is not in use.

I have planned over 50 mods for it, including a .44 receiver (the logic here being that I'm assuming 12.7mm to be equivalent to .50 AE, which has the same rim diameter as .44).

Another frequent question is about the stocks, whether there'll be a collapsed version for them:

That would cause issues such as blocking the ejection port and the magazine slot on top, so no. However, equipping any stock will have its own unique draw/holster animation which is longer, having to unfold and fold it, giving atradeoff for going stockless: You'll draw much quicker for CQB at the cost of accuracy.


Also for those concerned about file size, the skins will probably be shipped as an optional file that you can opt out of.

Default look
The default look of the 12.7mm SMG. Based on the Millenia retexture for Fallout NV.



All-American
For people who prefer the Fallout NV vanilla green look. Green coated steel with US army markings.



Eastern Bloc
Bakelite plastic and Voron black steel finish, gives your gun a late soviet flavor.



Deutsch
Black steel and polymer for a H&K-inspired style



Patriot
Covered muzzle to stock in US flags for the true patriot



Red Dawn
For collaborators of the People's Republic in american soil

      Not much I'm afraid, hit a big hurdle with the animations, namely that I suck at animating lol

      add to that me getting a new job and not much got done. I've been trying to find someone willing to animate this , so hopefully I'll find that soon.

      Hi! I'd be very interested in giving the animation a shot. I need some practice before I go back to school and I am very interested in viewmodel animation (and have not really gotten a chance to do much of it). Please DM me if you are interested and best of luck at your job <3.

      First off good on you for getting a job " idk if had one before but yea" hope you love what you are doing, having fun it love what you makes it not work. The second is have you asked DeadpPool2099 or Hitman47101 this seems right up their alley. They make a bunch of weapons from previous fallout games mainly fallout 3 and New Vegas, it's worth a try. Hope life is going well, if not just remember it seems like we are alone from the front of you but when you take a look to your past you'll see everyone that gave you a hand.

      Yep! He handed me the rig this weekend and I'm now animating the gun, should do another image post soon with footage of it in game. After that, we'll do some balancing and testing then release.

    Im super excited for this, and I never thought I'd say that about the 12.7mm smg. That weapon in FNV was really underwhelming but you've really brought it to life. Thankyou for your work on this, I'm gonna redo my load order and make room for this on the chance it comes to xbox.

      Nah, definitely not my first. I've been doing 3d modelling for 4 years now, and my second fallout 4 mod. My first is still in progress however, it's the Red Glare from new vegas
