Working on replacing the Wasteland Survival Guides with one of two alternatives.
Which is better?

1. Classic FO3/FNV Look

2. VDSG Manual/ Game Guide Look

I don't really want to use the pictures for the original vanilla survival guides as they don't match either design, so won't be including those. 

Side note, also working on the Total Hack Magazine since they really needed a retexture.

    I've released the classic Wasteland Survival Guide retexture. It can be found here.

    I'm working on the VDSG version but that won't be out for a while.

    Vault Dweller edition wins in my book :).
    They both look grand but the Vault Dweller edition is more immersive and in-fitting with the world :).

    Alright, thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm going to finish up the Classic version and release that soon. I'll probably come back to the VDSG version in the future.

    Personally I'd go for the VDSG - though boring as it is. To me a field manual would not have/need a catchy cover

    For the sake of nostalgia i would prefer the VSDG version.
    BUT!
    The classic version makes more sense in terms of immersion and uhmm... for reasons!

    So: Classic F3/FNV!!!

    I'd say classic style is better. At first glance I thoght "hey, the official Vault-Tec materials kinda deal makes more sense", but then I realized there aren't really any vault dvellers in FO4 that could spread the thing. Vault 81 residents don't really leave their vault, and the others are dead. So, it's easier to believe that it's Moira's version that made it to Boston.

      Yeah, kind of my thoughts too. The classic guides somehow found their way to the West Coast so I'm pretty sure Boston isn't much of a stretch.

    Definitely the Fallout 3 & NV look, as it's the most lore-friendly out of the two. Not only that, but it makes more sense to have the F3/FNV version than it does to have a Vault-Tec version, because none of the Wasteland Survival Guide issues are found in Vaults.

      Thanks for the input! Thinking I might stick with the classic look then and release the Vault themed one as its own mod later down the line.

      Yeah 3/NV makes more sense because they're made post war by post war and those look like they could be rather than just old vault books, I do like the vault ones too though feel like those would be good as additional survival guides available in vaults. Would you be doing a patch for the survival guide added by the Heather Casdin mod?

      I didn't even know that Heather could make you a custom book. Yeah, I'll definitely make a compatibility patch for it. But the pictures probably won't be there since they don't really match the look of the classic guide.

      Yeah she ads a swimming with supermutants book after you clear them out of the water processing place near Greygarden.
