About this image
Keep in mind, these images only showcase what I've done so far, and not everything I have planned. However, what I haven't done yet, I'd like to keep a surprise!

Textures, however look alright, I guess you could do even better on them if your model would be more detailed, because you would be able to make a cavity map out of the normal map and of course, you would also be to bake an AO (ambient occlusion) map. I also noticed that your High Poly model that you used for projection wasn't enough detailed on your "Pre War reloading, showing off it's rust and decaying grip" image above, that's what caused all of those strange, stretched edges/lines on the model. A word of advice, learn how to make proper high poly models and then everything will look better, even texturing will be easier with properly baked AO maps and cavity maps. Keep up the good work and don't stop trying, I spent quite a lot of time learning how to properly make things! Watch Millenia's tutorials on YT.
1. Don't apply AO or cavity maps directly: use them for stuff like grunge.
2. For metals, make the diffuse dark. So for the silver slide, the diffuse for the metal bit should be almost black. Hear me out....
3. Instead, make the specular bright. Like over 60% sRGB bright. Everything else (wood, plastic) should be darkish (20% sRGB)
4. To help the specular out a bit (more like a lot), use a proper gloss map. After establishing everything the spec and diffuse, tweak the gloss to your heart's content: this is the place to go nuts.
I'm in the middle of making an M1911 myself, so let's see who does it first!
Hate to say it, but your M1911 textures aren't going to cut it in Fallout 4. You can definitely salvage the model and normal maps, but the diffuse, spec and gloss, you'd need to do it again.
Your Remington 1858 is going to suffer from the same problem too: if you moved it to FO4 right now with your existing textures, it's going to look like concrete unfortunately.
Any chance of bakelite grips to give it a more "Fallout" feel?
Nothing wrong as is now, just wish more gun mods had wood and bakelite furniture to fit with the Fallout 1950s to the extreme style
