Better yet, build a really messed up settlement as far away from Sanctuary as you can and send him there and never be bothered by him ever again and turn off the MM radio. Its way pass the time these settlers learned to fend for themselves after you spend time/resources/energy to set their lazy behinds settlements up. I personally set up an outhouse by itself in Murkwater and placed Preston on guard duty there. Go by now and then and shoot junk at him with the Junk Jet.
