When you go into Diamond City, can you see the Mass Fusion Building with custom LOD installed?

I can't see it from inside Diamond City. Without custom lod is it possible to see it?

Yes. One can see it, without custom LOD.

There appears to exist a strange difference with all "Exterior" type LOD. For example Diamond City, but also in Goodneighbor and any interior cell that uses exterior LOD, such as the Hotel Rexford interior Cell. It seems the game uses LOD Level 32 (lowest detail level) for all "exterior" type LOD, when custom LOD files are installed. With vanilla LOD files, it appears that more detailed LOD Level is shown in these cases.

There is some discussion about it in LODGen Beta thread on stepmodifications.org, but a solution has not yet been forthcoming:

I've posted a bunch of screenshots from different places there, if you want to verify further or help with diagnosis.

Update: I've just tried new xLODGen Beta 82 with "no vertex colors" option, as instructed by Sheson.
That fixes the exterior LOD issue in Goodneighbor and Hotel Rexford. I assume (didn't check yet) it's the same in Diamond City and elsewhere.

So it appears that this particular problem has been solved! :D

    Looks amazing!

LOD makes a huge difference and yours appears to be setup extremely well.

If it's not to much of a hassle would you be willing to explain how to go about setting up LODs like this?

    Regardless, looks great!

Thank you very much, I just unpack my flora mod, deleted the included lod (Meshes/terrain/Commonwealth and Textures/terrain/Commonwealth) and removed the .ba2 files from the data folder and put the loose files instead, then I followed the parameters from Luxor in this tutorial with the difference that I did not use any of the resources that he recommends

      You're welcome, and thank you!

I'll see about trying this out at some point.

      Cheers!
