After the action with the raiders earlier in the night, The Ranger discovers that they were not holding suitable food rations. However, they were well-stocked with many bottles, filled with purified water that had come directly from a place by the name of 'Vault 95' judging by the label. If raiders had gained control over Vault 95, havoc would surely follow for the surrounding areas, and the vagabonds would have more supplies than ever. To The Ranger, this assumption would be met with justice. However, alone in the wastes, he had no access to the rest of the remaining Rangers back home. He must find civilization. As much as he loathes the insistence or common mannerisms and civil behaviour, it may be his only chance of tracking Vault 95, and getting to the bottom of their presence in the Commonwealth. To begin his journey, he takes all of the water he can carry and salvages for gun parts, mainly bullet shells for his rifle. There was no time for further rest, and so he wandered the area in search of more raiders or clues for his investigation. After a short walk north, he discovers a small water source with a large mechanism in its centre. He did not dive in to look at it, as the water was likely filled with Alpha Radiation due to the nearby machinery and radioactive waste. In order to prepare for the plunge, he removes his clothing and rubs an oil into his skin. This oil contained microscopic gold powder that helped reflect unstable Helium Nuclei, and thus decreased the chances of radiation absorbing through his skin. He also attached a water filter to his mask to stop the consumption of radioactive particles. After making necessary preparations, he positions himself and dives into the pool. Below lay a large machine of a surprising origin...
