Windbreaker, Part 9: Battery Acid Not Served Here
The Shark Sandwich Inn was run by the passionate metalhead couple Rolf and Brigitte Tessler. Rolf
handled the cooking, while Brigitte took care of business. Both were sporting Chains 'N' Leather forever
like only true heavy metal aficionados can. This morning saw Rolf and Brigitte serving four hungry
customers who were ready for the best Shark Sandwich Inn had to offer. Rolf assured his customers that
his refreshments were not made of the same pungent battery acid usually served around the Wasteland
as 'tea' or 'coffee'. Heather struck up immediately an enthusiastic conversation with Rolf as a fellow tea
connoisseur. Rolf was adamant that a carefully cooked meal prepared from quality ingredients was one
of the essential elements of civilization, just like medicine, shelter, plumbing and hot water. He was
appalled that some of the Wasteland's dwellers apparently ate their daily slop cold and raw from their
waste buckets because they simply didn't care. But here, in Windbreaker, everyone cared about the quality
of life because the heavy metal gods of the Old World had not settled for cold slop. Or waste buckets.
