About this image

So sad. At age 56.

I'll never forget the first performance I saw -- it was on Saturday Night Live (not the Pope picture performance). I was left breathless. 2U forever, Sinéad.
Controversial, but undeniable talent.

By the way, the redhead is Jinx. She's a singer in one of my stories. She has had a rather tumultuous and sad career herself. It's an old picture, but I thought she looked sad and thoughtful in this picture -- yes, an old shot, but fitting I thought.

A sad story. A sad life. Though at least she didn't join "club 27." RIP

Yes, she had a lot of problems and issues.  Club 27 -- I had to look it up -- interesting coincidence, but yes she survived well beyond that.

And also R.I.P., I did not know at the time of viewing this post she had passed.
All the stars are leaving us too much these days, very sad.

I remember when I heard "Troy" as a child, I didn't understand the lyrics then, but the voice and emotions made a huge impression on me. It's still one of my favourite songs...

It's such a sad break-up story that the lyrics tell.  Well written and heartfelt. I see why you like it.

She never wanted to be a "popstar" in the sence we see them today. Never wanted to be in a category, just create and perform and live her life. She did a lot of good to  normalize mental health problems by just speaking openly about it, wich I think is great of her. It  "depopstarred" her ,but the gain was greater I think.
Her voice was fragile, wich I liked , the genre in general less so. It's a sad loss however you look at it

I just wanted to say something -- like you say a tribute. Yes, I hope her soul will find peace.

It's a fun hair style, thanks.

Nice tribute.  Never was a fan but never like to see someone passing particularly so young.  May she rest in peace.
    P.S. Jinx!

I didn't follow Sinéad closely, but I always enjoyed hearing her on TV or in videos. Yes, hopefully her soul will find peace.

Some are given gifts at birth and also handed a cursed life as well. Hope her soul finds peace.

    Nice tribute.

She had an incredible voice. I was just reading this, Morrissey is ripping into an industry that wanted nothing to do with her life but is now singing her praises in death. YOU KNOW I COULDN'T LAST - MESSAGES FROM MORRISSEY - MORRISSEY CENTRAL

So typical those comments from Morrissey. So many people demand conformity. Even her most well known out burst -- tearing apart a picture of the Pope -- was on target given what the Pope was ignoring at the time. I don't know much (anything) about what goes on inside the music business, but kicking a troubled person when she is suffering is disgusting and deplorable.
