Humans have made them what they are now with their atomic bombs. And when one of their offspring escapes from the safety of the cave, the humans are frightened because of the bioluminescence of their eyes and now want to kill everything again.
Yet they are quite harmless, and the mother has even brought all her offspring out into the fresh air. ☺
