    I got some inspiration for this from dickyftw.  Also from a Sci Fi short that I can't find now.

    (Fish is a kid's card game where you go "fishing" for cards in your opponent's hand to make matches in yours.)

      Satire is a good thing, points out the obvious flaws in certain areas of thought.  Had me at "sniffer-in-chief" but the clincher was the Go Fish game.

      Just a few few folks with their heads in the sand. No problems here at home, nope, everything is just fine. What we really need is a good war, right? I thought you might like the sniffer reference and Go Fish.

      There is always conflict somewhere in the world. Mostly relatively minor engagements (thank goodness). But, we're well beyond the saber rattling stage now.

      I had a little fun with that ending. I wish I could take full credit for it. I got the idea from a Short Sci-Fi film where the two combatants played Pong. (see response to gurleygirl) And I guess in New Vegas in that Vault Hotel (21?) on the Strip, the residents settle their disputes with card games.

    I love the premise of this story so far, awesome shots coupled with perfect dialogue. Eagerly awaiting the next set

      I'm glad you liked it. But I will probably retire Mustafa and Abdul after this set.  The other two, Digger and Danny, will be around for awhile. Awaiting orders from their CO. Uh oh, I just noticed that it's been since July of '22 that Digger and Danny appeared in anything. I should do something about that.

    This set is so gorgeous, Laird. I caught a lot of the words, too. They're fun :)

    On a side note, I was mesmerized by that young version of that song so exuberant and so different than the radio version which eventually became so popular.

      I listened to a remaster of Gimme Shelter -- too sanitized. I liked the raw sound of the live performance.
