About this image

"It's 9 months after the bombs dropped, it's summer, finally. At this point we don't know how many Joint Task Forces are left out there anymore.. Our numbers have dwindled every day, if it isn't looters, anarchists or men being disillusioned its the damn radiation that keeps killing them off.

CERA set up aid stations after the bombs dropped and the nuclear fires had settled. They functioned for a while. There was hope. Despite the chaos of the bombs people still came together, and followed the rules.

The radiation was too much for CERA, the small yield nuclear bombs that China had used against us spread more radiation than CERA anticipated. When we started to run low on clean water, RadX and RadAway, people started to go crazy. People armed themselves, they started to loot our convoys, and trash the aid stations.

That was then, now its 9 months later... Our patrols have been reduced to consisting of 2-3 men each, we only hold a hand full of outposts in the Greater Boston Area. How long can we keep going? People in the Commonwealth rely on us, but we're outnumbered wherever we go, an unarmed mob is more intimidating than 3 JTF soldiers in uniforms at this point.

So why do we get up every morning, put on our dirty, worn and faded uniforms, leave the relative safety of our outposts to head into populated areas?

Because people depend on us, as long as there are families, children and old people who need protection, the JTF will continue to exist. It's a big world out there, someone has to protect and regulate it, that is, until the Raiders realize how easy it is to overrun us..."

- Signed: Sergeant William Cox, formerly BPD, now JTF.
