About this image

/sigh

So either a mod, the newest update, or something else screwed up my current saves. 11 days of gameplay (That's totaled together, in other words about 264 hours.) down the drain. I plan to reuse the same character thanks to Face Ripper and backstory but I think I plan to do things a little different this time around:

1.) NOT join the Minutemen. I feel it's almost the biggest mistake I ever made, damn you Preston.
2.) Leave the Institute storyline much sooner. I was torn before on whether or not to join in the end, this time no deal. Father can shove it...
3.) Either join the Railroad or stick with the Brotherhood of Steel. I still dislike the Railroad, but I'm having second thoughts about staying with the Brotherhood this time around. I may with the "Perfect Ending" that keeps all 3 factions alive but that means becoming the General of the Minutemen again...

I suppose I'll have to see where Hannah's journeys take her this time.

Onto the backstory:

Nate and Nora met a long time ago. While Nora was practicing Law, Nate was a soldier for the US Army. The two eventually married and lived together. Unknown to Nora, Nate had met another woman during his service, an ex-thief named Hannah who was trying to turn her life around as a secretary on a base he was stationed at. Old habits die hard and one day Nate caught her attempting to steal a gold pocketwatch from the Lieutenant's personal belongings she was serving as secretary to. She begged him not to turn her in lest she face the rest of her life in prison. At first he had every intent to however there was... something about her. He couldn't be sure what but whatever it was made him spare her and look the other way.

As the days passed Hannah found herself thinking about Nate, how he spared her of what could have been her undoing. A moment of weakness to return to her old trade nearly did her in. She would watch him from afar whenever she got a chance. Eventually she mustered up the courage and approached Nate. One moment lead to another and it was the beginning of an affair between them. For months it lasted until Nate was called off to war. Hannah feared she would never see him again. At last, the war ended and Nate returned. Hannah was overjoyed to see her lover but it wasn't to be. Nate was to leave for home to his wife Nora, and that was that.

It wasn't long before Nora became pregnant. Yet tragedy struck. During birth there were complications. The baby, Shaun, survived, but Nora would not. She perished in the late night. Distraught at the loss of his wife Nate nearly gave up hope. Three months passed from that day. Hearing of his loss Hannah came to see the man she had loved out of worry. While a good soldier, Nate had a weak mind and Nora's death weighed heavily upon it. Mentally he had broken down inside. Hannah tried to help him cope, visiting him frequently and helping him care for the infant. But Nate, he was still broken inside.

"This is my wife." He told himself. "Hannah is my wife and Shaun is our child. We live a happy life together."

At first Hannah was utterly shocked. The man before her had come to the conclusion that she was his dead wife. Perhaps out of longing or out of desperation to make him happy she went along with the illusion. Two months later they packed up and moved away to Boston Massachusetts settling down in a little place called Sanctuary Hills. For the longest time Hannah lived in dellusional world.

"He's really my husband, Shaun is my child." She would think to herself, knowing full well it wasn't true.

Yet after seven long months she began to believe it herself. Shaun was her child and Nate was her husband. She wore Nora's wedding band, took on the belief she was a Lawyer, Nate was her lawfully wedded husband and Shaun was her biological child. They lived as a happy family along with the robot Nate bought for her, Codsworth. Everything was perfect. Then Vault-Tec came...

The bombs, Vault 111, awakening from statis to see her lover shot. All at once the world around her shattered, the illusion of another woman's life being her own flooding over her in a bitter realization. She allowed herself to become ensnared in the web of lies and she was to blame for it all. She shouldn't be here, she should have helped him cope with the loss, not try to fill the void by becoming what he lost. She failed him and the son he cared so much for.

Prepared for the Future! Bullshit!

As Hannah gazed upon the frozen remains of her "husband", she made a vow. She would find the killer, she would save the son she had adopted as her own, and she would make him pay. The man with the scar would die.

Thanks! It was a pain in the butt trying to copy over her face into a preset with Face Ripper (1.5 patch screws it up.) but fortunately I had a save prior to it so I was able to carry it on.

Try lookmenu, it's on nexus and do a good job at creating in-game preset, very user friendly: you have a lv 350 char you use, you load that save, go into slm then create a preset, now you load a lv 1 char you just create then go into slm and load preset, done. Somehow (not to bash face ripper or anything, a better mod is still a better mod, I think it's not an insult, just honest remark) it's better than faceripper since it loads everything (tattoos, blemishes, make-up) and I mean everything ! without messing up any parts of your face.

oh and sorry for the long post, english is not actually my native language, feel free to correct it as I can learn something from that.
