About this image

When I first started up Far Harbor and met the Radium Rifle, I immediately saw it was a Gustloff Volkssturmgewehr, and I wanted to restore it to it's late-war glory. And so, after hours of blood, sweat, tears, modelling and texturing I'm 60% done on my mod. I removed all the tech pieces, removed bolts on top of the receiver, added some iron sights in the middle, which is also on the real one.

I have no idea why there is a purple texture though, even though I setup the texture and material correctly. If somone knows, please let me know!

Very nice, looking forwards to shooting it with real ammo instead of using that clunky vanilla one which deals radiation damage.

That's great, but mine will be a standalone weapon rather than a simple mesh replacement, and feature a new unique calibre with new ammo types(FMJ, HP), and the model is also slightly different than mine. Still, that's not going to stop me from releasing it. I have put more than 3-4 full days in this already.

ok looking forward to your mod then. just thought you could save some time.

about your texture problem, did you double check the material path in the mesh file in nifskope if its correct?

some other problem i ran into myself was then i was editing textures, Gimp changed the ratio of my texture to something like 1028x1024 when i was copying or merging layers. you should double check if its still the right ratio.

and did you choose the correct compression when saving the dds file?

      hope this helps

Thanks for the help. Yes, I double checked and even look at other material as to how the texture paths are setup. I did however never know what the right .dds compression is.
