Interesting post on the musings of Stragon and yourself I presume

The only character to make a final choice so far, in my world, is Wolf Steelson (Fenn hasn't even found the Institute yet) and he is not religious so based his decision on his own moral code. He went with Stragons decision if I assume correctly from your images and statement and also felt it was not an easy decision at all. He let those who wished to escape (which raises some questions about what they will do in the future) and the rest went down.

I suggest you read up on the Enclave (mentioned in my spoiler below) as I see many parallels between them and the Institute. Basically lets save humanity but we will decide who is worthy of being saved or not and we will control them afterwards.

    Spoiler:
    Show
I felt the INST was like the Enclave, those behind all the experiments with Vault-Tec and were convinced they were the only true humans, the cream of the crop, the ones who should live. Not sure if you know FO lore but you should at least read up on the Enclave. A group of scientists who wanted to save humanity ... but only the humanity they felt was worthy to be saved.

The INST seems very nice, full of hope and promise, with basically nice people. Till you start reading everything. Seems easy to forget they killed your wife and kidnapped your kid. That they killed EVERYONE in the vault simply because they wanted no loose ends except for their backup.

That they kidnap settlers to run FEV experiments on and replace them with Synths. That they treat the wastelanders like lab rats (the same way that the Enclave, via Vault-Tec, treats the vault people as each vault was designed as an experiment on those inside).

I like to think some of the better ones escaped - the one who helps the Synths escape and the ones with some moral regrets over things - there is more than one of them if you look and listen thoroughly.

For me it came down to the BOS or the Minutemen. I think the MM are overall the best of all the factions. The RR is a very nice group but pointless - they lack the power to do much and they really have no interest in helping people in general besides the Synths. The problem, for me, with the MM is that they lack the resources (possibly) to protect and manage the CW. The BOS clearly has that ... but they are another form of dictatorship like the INST. They also change - for a while (past games) they moved away from being totally selfish to being more active in helping people. But they started reversing that and in FO4 are becoming more isolated again.

I went with BOS working hand in hand with the MM in WOlf's game with the BOS being the final ones in charge. Fenn is planning on siding with the MM and RR.

But going to replay Wolf as I think my preferred ending of all the possible options is with the MM in charge but very friendly with the BOS. The BOS can help train and organize the MM recruits and provide resources while the MM will help the settlers and people in general.

I believe that we see eye to eye on the merits of each and the shortcomings of the them.
There were some I had hopes for when it came time, yet they still took up arms to defend what they were doing in the end.
So Wolf and Stragon chose the same path then. And it will be up to them to try and maintain some kind of harmony between what was left.......

Great Musings and each has merit, I for one can not make up my mind. I have met father and find his world strange and unwelcoming other then for him. You are both right, they do not want you there nor are they really in the least interested in the world above them but unsure if they deserve to be destroyed either ..... I keep hoping something will come to light that shows that they could all find a way to live together but not looking like that is even close to possible.

The RR is another one, they care for the robots, but their fellow humans , well do not see any sign of that to be honest other then those within their group. They want you to trick and use your Son just after you find him and do not seem to care how that will affect you as long as their means are filled.

The Brotherhood, at least they are honest, they want to be in control, mind you they are sneaky also, getting you to go to settlements and get them to supply the BOS.

The MM seem to be the only group that wants to help the commonwealth and not themselves...... maybe I have answered where I will end up in the end just by what is right.
