About this image

General Atomics Galleria

A heavily requested settlement location. I have to admit, this is a very cool site. You've got operational robots, an elevator control room, various open (outdoor) shops, a cool bowling alley. But for that reason it's also complex. There's a lot to keep intact and a lot to get wrong in the process... so this was beyond my skill level really, and I can see the pages of issues and comments in my minds-eye and it's not appealing :P I think it led to my decision to try making a completely new location instead (Norwood Depot).

That said, someone did give it a go and presumably did a good job of it: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12540/?

Kudos to them!

This one actually works pretty well as is. I use it a lot. I also prefer to build in and around preexisting structures. Covenant in my first play through was a real weird looking place. Wrangling out my last few adjustments on making all the mainland Red Rockets into settlements, hope to release early next week.

Personally, I'm not too keen on locations that have a lot of stuff sitting on the plot already. I like to build my own habitat instead of wringing shops and furniture inside existing buildings.

I'm also one who doesn't care about personal dwellings. If it's incorporated into a settlement, I don't use it anyway. I usually keep Red Rocket as a personal hide-out; except on the rare occasion the game decides that the RailRoad make it their Safehouse location instead of on Spectacle Island...

Oh? They nominate somewhere to go? Guess I never went that far with them. I did wonder why some settlements were listed on wiki as "can be used as railroad safehouse"...but I completed the game without ever using another settlement as a RR safehouse.

Seems an eclectic mix of interests in Settlements, you say you prefer space, I was just speaking to a guy who prefers the challenge of pre-existing stuff. I'm personally more in the latter, I liked to preserve what was already there at other settlements, I never really got into building my own mega structures, and this is probably why I found the farms the most boring, cos pre-existing stuff typically consisted of a barn and a pen. Red Rocket was also THE place for me...but it's so full in my game now, it makes it stuttery, and I'm out of build space (no additional mods).

Thanks for the endorsement Jimmy! It almost feels like cheating...endorsed images...haha, woot! Zero effort for endorsements

The settlement and safehouse are two different things, hence why there's two different location icons once the RR decided on a spot; one for the settlement and one -their oil lamp emblem- for their Mercer Safehouse. Both map markers lead to the exact same spot, except when you use a fast travel mat: then the fast travel leads you to where the mat is, but hitting the Safehouse marker leads to the original landing/spawn spot.

Happened only twice they switched locations; Taffington Boathouse and recently RRTS. In the 15 or 16 previous runs (when I got as far) it's always been Spectacle Island.

Doesn't really matter where it is, as the location is only needed for when you decide to go with the RR to build that teleportation device...

      *EDIT*

I usually endorse pics from folk who are on my friends list (when I see them... I'm tracking your arse, so everyone of your moves gives me an alert). Except when they're real crappy ones
(The pics I mean, not the friends )
