Basically similar to Provisioners, but instead of one guy/girl with a brahmin, you can outfit and assign a squad of 4 to 6 soldiers and send them to patrol between settlements, and maybe be able to call the nearest squad for help when you need it.
I think a feature like this would be great in a mod that can potentially add hundreds of more enemies to fight, it also makes settlement feel more meaningful in that you're essentially conquering ground and establishing a contiguous territory.

I gotta throw my name in "I'm looking forward to this" ring as well. I went to download WOTC yesterday and saw that you are rebuilding it so I decided to hold off until the new release, looks like it's going to be awesome. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know. Also I had quite a few excellent people help me test my mods, all of them more experienced with Beth games than me and all gave good detailed feed back, so if you need some Beta Testers when then time comes I'd like to volunteer myself and I can ask the people who helped me if they'd like to help you to if you want or need the help.
