Being in a state of depression makes a person prone to choose the what seemed to be the easy/simple but wrong way of solving issues. But after reading your character's view and how should things go, I have some confidence that she'll ultimately make the right decision that I think will benefit not just her but also her companions that were always there for her.
Might I suggest of adding Ada to her group? She'll be greatly interested about Ada on how she 'works', being a sentient(?) robot.
Or is she just a mirror, perhaps?
