Say what you want about todd, like "there are the Burger King and the Bug King (todd), both are bad for health". But, The top 5 games most downloaded mods from Nexus are created by todd and his troop, and I bet these games were the most played in the world. And btw, he is not a liar, but a dreamer. In his dreams, these games were to be 500% better.
Get your head out of the sand and stop kissing his boots, the man is a con artist, what he did was criminal and your fooling your self to think everything he did was good and justified. Its thanks to suckers like you that people like him get to do what ever they want with out consequences.
Except it really isn't Todd Howard's fault, it's the Publisher's fault. Todd Howard is a producer, that means he's in charge of making the game. The Publisher is the one that handles marketing and most importantly: Commodification of the game.
A commodity is an item designed with the sole intention of being sold for as high a profit as possible as to meet the legal requirements that corporations are beholden to in terms of fiduciary duty to the shareholders.
Commodities are not about quality, or customer satisfaction, or exchange value in relation to price, or anything like that. A commodity's primary purpose is to raise stock prices and produce dividends. That's it. Beyond some very low standards for what would constitute fraud, corporations don't owe you anything. Not even if you pay for a product. But if they do not act in good faith to the shareholders, they can legitimately get sued and even face criminal charges.
Which is why Todd Howard isn't the liar here. He operates on the info given to him by the publishers, who in turn operates on the policies established by the board meetings and CTO/CEO/CFO/COO/C-whatever else they have these days. Then, out of thin air, the publishers say "Recent sales data suggests that we will sell more copies upon release if we have the game in stores by Christmas, so we're reducing your deadline by 3 months." or they might say "Recent focus testing suggests that people ages 23-27 are really excited about disco music, so you're going to have to give everyone in the Brotherhood of Steel afros." Etc. Etc. They make ridiculous and arbitrary demands of the producer (IE: Todd Howard), and then he has to do it because otherwise the company might risk legal consequences.
In short: Capitalism is not about making video games, it's about making money. And that's why games get successively more crappy as their stock prices go up and they become bigger corporations. Because suddenly the games are no longer being developed by engineers or artists, instead they're being developed by bankers and marketing executives. That's why there's almost a universal decline in consumer enjoyment of games as corporations get more profitable. From Ubisoft, to Electronic Arts, to Blizzard, to Bethesda, to CD Project Red, etc. Witcher was made by video game developers, Cyberpunk was made by businesspeople. That's how the system works. Don't like it? Read Lenin.
Wow these comments did not age well. I'm excited to reach my 2000 hour milestone with Fallout 4 just around the bend and I love the game but it owes so much of that to the lineage that carries it on their shoulders and the great community that makes so many fantastic mods to fix this game.
I think The Last of Us had the most deceptive hype at launch and people still worship that game and that hacky company, Fallout 76 was even more deceptive with their "You can mod this game" promise that turned into you can buy our "mods" with "atoms." And lately we got blessed with another marxist snoozefest with the Outer Worlds. Still people will bash Fallout 76 because it was just so bad it became socially acceptable to do so but people will be all up in me for ripping on TLOU and Outer Worlds if anybody was even ever going to see this comment. We got Fallout 76 and The Outer Worlds because people were sheep fanboys; they have no one to blame but themselves.
I doubt we will see much improvement in the industry going into 2020. But what was GOTY in 2019? Big fat nothing. I'm still playing this.
People saying bugs don't exist yet they all probably use the unofficial patches for skyrim and this game. There are LOTS of bugs in this game! Going to one extreme or the other doesn't solve the problem, people acknowledging the problem solves the problem. trying to defend the company doesn't do anything useful and the only way to really solve all the problems that everyone has with this company is simply stop spending your time on their products for one year just one year. They will get the message and so will other companies and you had all better do it now because the next few years we will see more of the same problems from every major developer they won't fix things if nobody complains.
....and they won't fix problems IF you complain....
I haven't had any serious game braking errors occur in my game. Just the odd glitches. And I've only just installed UF4P for fun...so yeah, you're wrong
I didn't fool anyone nor was it my intention to fool anyone. There are no BUGS in FO4 bugging me. There are some GLITCHES though ( like Dogmeat turning his ass INTO a wall ) that sometime bug me. So I installed UF4P.
READ this : I am not saying there aren't any BUGS , I'm just saying I haven't encountered them. 4 playthroughs, tens of mods...
And again: when did complaining and nagging about something in the gameworld actually moved game studios to fix their sh*t ?
When you have companies that listen to consumers. i.e. all the time. And even if a company doesn't do that, they SHOULD. What you're basically saying is "take the broken product and shut up like a good little consumer sheep."
If you picked quite a few of the perks, you ran into bugs
Scrounger perk left out certain ammo types by accident The well known Big League perk The wrong combo of Sandman, Ninja and Deacon's perk would gimp your Sneak damage output
That's just some off the top of my head, but you're free to go check out the changelogs for the "Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch", and sadly, before Bethesda removed their old forums, there was a bug list several posts long of known bugs.
So far, they haven't fixed any, as this last patch 307, ONLY fixed stuff that had to do with their in-game mod interface. Add to that that the last DLC is coming out in August, (which is only two months away), and it definitely looks like they're not going to bother fixing anything.
They definitely don't seem very enthusiastic about supporting Fallout 4 much longer.
Oh, and another thing: I don't see any of you guys complaining AND fixing problems...
Just spend all your free time and put all the 'Todd Howard lies' on a holotape and you have done your deed. What if you have used that time to actually FIX things in FO4?
Yeah, because all other games out there are properly build and have no problems and bugs and glitches. Wake up and smell the drugs mate: life isn't perfect and neither are games. Nobody said that you were entitled to a perfect game when you bought it. If you don't like what you have bought return it and ask for your money back. Or write a lengthy email to Todd....because he won't EVER install his precious Fallout 4 copy and your mod to pick up that holotape to see what's on it.
So again : waste of time. You didn't help the modding community, you just fulfilled your own desire to mock Todd. Congrats! Well done boy !!! Another great mod from you has arrived !!!
If you have the balls to make a mocking mod about Todd's lies at least come up with a solution to the sh*t you are one about. If not you are just a troll making a statement and dropping the microphone...boy: that microphone wasn't even on , no one heard you lol All this may work well on teenage parties and on YouTube films but it doesn't cut it if you want to give constructive criticism.
So, by your logic, if you buy a chair, and the chair breaks, you aren't allowed to be upset? Something was advertised and not delivered on, and it's YOUR responsibility to fix it?
The circles you run your brain in... I mean the cognitive dissonance here is astounding.
I never encountered a single noticeable bug until recently. I think the people who have lots of bugs are trying to run the game on systems with marginal RAM. The game relies heavily on its built-in scripting / programming language, and if you don't have enough RAM, that can cause data to get dumped. It was the same with Neverwinter NIghts, back in the day. I'm running 16 gigs of RAM and have never had a problem.
@Ryowatanabe201 exactly! I have 8gb and it still runs fine (all else is the about the same 4gb video card and i5 3.2ghz quad core).... something tells me that people are thinking "minimum requirements" means "runs perfectly fine" no.... to get that you need at LEAST the "recommended".... skyrim on the otherhand.... that is actually pretty buggy.... I have been playing for 30 minutes and had like 5 crashes.... granted I messed with the ini, and I have like 180 mods, so it could be just me too XD..... but at LEAST I'm willing to admit it could be just me....
Some people can admit to major flaws in things they enjoy overall, or be upset about a process that ultimately produced something they liked. The world isn't black and white.

Good one.
Some folks mod just to amuse themselves.
