About this mod

An overhaul of the food and cooking system to enhance immersion and internal consistency in the wasteland.

Permissions and credits
It seems strange that you come out of the vault after 200+ years of cryo-sleep, in what feels like minutes or at most hours to you, and immediately know how to properly cook the deformed and mutated flora and fauna of the wasteland without making yourself sick. Enter Immersive Food Overhaul, stage right! This mod is intended to create a greater degree of internally-consistent (not necessarily realistic) immersion for the story-driven player with regards to food. It was designed with Survival mode in mind, and is calibrated to be balanced in that mode, but will ceertainly work fine for those who prefer a less hardcore approach to their Post Apocalypse.

DETAILED CHANGES

-Added two new workbenches (Still and Prep Counter) and altered all of the cooking benches to only be able to produce recipes appropriate to their model.
-Overhauled cooking categories to add greater variety and reduce clutter in individual categories Added ability to dehydrate fruits and dry nuts as well as smoke jerky. Dried foods are especially lightweight, but many increase thirst.
-Added ability to can vegetables and radstag meat at oven-model cooking stations Added ability to harvest seeds from domestic and wild versions of all plantable crops, including the newly added ones (sporeprinting in the case of mushrooms is available at Chemistry workbench), and all planting requires seeds.
-Added new recipes, renamed/rebuilt several and most recipes are now associated with logical perks. Wasteland Survival Guide issues 1, 2, 5, and 9 all grant recipes, as does every rank of Lead Belly.
-Added recipes to create Whiskey, Bourbon, Rum and Vodka.

COMPATIBILITY

This mod changes a great deal of the game, but in particular the way cooking workbenches operate. It will not be compatible without a patch with any mod that adds new recipes or changes existing ones, nor any that edit any of the perks mentioned above.

Patches for compatibility with Far Harbor and Wasteland Workshop 2 are in the Optional Files section. Automatron and Wasteland Workshop 1 have no conflicts.
