This is my favorite armor piece. But clipping is guaranteed for bigger characters. I've checked everywhere to find a solution. Only wish I had the expertise to make this happen myself. A very unique armor piece. Nothing like it on Nexus. But one size does not fit all, I'm afraid. It seriously needs a bodyslide conversion. I even offered a youtuber good money to make this but never got an answer.
Was your question ever addressed? I too have the same problem. This is my favorite armor piece. But clipping is guaranteed for bigger characters. I've checked everywhere to find a solution. Absolutely love the way it feels, the PA sounds kick ass IMO. The lack of screenshake makes a world of difference.THAT BEING SAID... It is no where as strong as actual power armor (XO PowerArmor is about 2,000 armor so this Sentry is roughly 7% as strong [140 armor] as that in comparison or 93% weaker). Now that Survival Mode is becoming main stream, we could really use the extra tweaks to make it a viable pick and not just something to oogle at. Extra mods, 1 for leg set, Arm set, Chest, so all in all just 2 extra mod spaces, so we can also use muffled/dense if we want!! I think that's totally fair seeing as most people will always ditch an 'outfit' due to the fact that it either can't get any legendary upgrades (or only comes with one) making them a little under balanced. This set also needs more defense and its a totally reasonable suggestion regarding balance. I did a little testing and I'm sure the Assault Marine set from Far Harbour is better, or just as good, but includes great radiation defense even without helm. So I think in reality a solider (Marine) could not bear as much armour as a Sentry bot. So boosting it even by 200 armour + a little extra poison (dying to bugs in THIS would be faaill) and rad resist, would definitely make this a proper viable pick for end game, or general survival mode combat without it being over powered (you would still be a 1 hit kill to many scorps, deathclaws, grenades, etc). I think those two balance additions are easy enough and kinda necessary for this to be used over Ultralight weight Marine with the added benefit of having more rad prot and a legendary mod per peice. In a majority case a lot of people come to mods like this one looking for 'next tier' unlocks, something that is better than vanilla so we can play on into the end zone of Survival Mode, and while this armor is tough it still can't compete with the vanilla mini-powerarmor setup so lets see some upgrades!
I don't know if you will get a notification or whatnot, all these years later, but I was thinking the same thing. I went into XEdit and changed some of the stats. I copied over the Sentry Bot Helmet as the Sentry Armor Helmet and gave it the same Rad Resistance as a Gas Mask (15), added Rad Resistance to the Armor (500 - about the same as a damaged Radiation Suit) and the same level of Poison Resistance as the Poisoner's Legendary Effect (25). Those big servo/shock absorbers built into the legs demanded a No Falling Damage effect, so I put one in. Also made sure that the Helmet, Armor and Under-armor can all accept Legendary effects. I use a mod to allow swapping Legendary Effects between items, so my current armor is crafted with Sharp (Helmet), Powered (Armor), and Poisoner's (Under-armor). All-in-all, it has the potential for five Legendary-like effects, though two are locked in (full "Acrobat"-like falling damage negation and a "Poisoner's"-like resistance).
All in all, the armor is pretty well balanced for Survival mode. I still take damage from all sources and I can still be crippled. Against weaker enemies I dominate, but against tough enemies and groups, I still have a fairly hard time.
Currently testing to see if I can make it craftable. If it all works out, game balance will be further restored as it will not be sitting in a chest outside of Vault 111.
Anyway, it's been almost five years to the day since your comment, so you might not even care. I was just struck by how your ideas were very similar to my own.
