Changelogs
This mod introduces the Scrap-O-Tron 2000, which makes scrapping junk into components as easy as it can get! It's in the Crafting category in the Build Menu.  Unlike other workbenches, no crafting interactions are required! Just walk up to it and press the desired buttons to perform their functions!

Once placed, input and output containers appear out of nowhere, along with 4 command buttons.  Pre-war tech at it's finest!

========================
But How Does it Work, Bob?
========================

  • The Input All Junk button instantly takes all junk that can be scrapped from the player's inventory and places it in the unit's input container.
  • The Input All Junk Except... button first sorts out useful items from the junk, then moves all other junk from the player's inventory into the unit's input container.
  • The Disassemble Input to Output button breaks down all junk found in the input container and moves the resulting components into the output container.
  • The Move Output to Warehouse button moves any items in the output container into the current settlement's workshop inventory.

If you need to manually sort inventory, you can access the containers. If you're in a rush, just press a buttons instead.  That's it!  As simple as walking up and pushing a few buttons!

As of version 1.4, the Scrap-O-Tron 2000 now requires a wired-connection in your settlement of 2 power.  It only makes sense that all of this automation requires power to operate!

As of version 1.5, take scrapping on the go with the all new Portable Scrapping Toolkit!  Available for crafting at any chem workbench, under Utility.

NOTE: I realize that everyone wants a simple answer to scrap weapons and armor. However, due to limitations of external code used for modding, this mod cannot scrap weapons and armor. The inner workings of scrapping weapons and armor is far more complicated than junk, and the vanilla function for doing this is hard-coded into the base game itself (not available externally to mod). While some have suggested implementing Fallout 4 Script Extender into this mod to accomplish this, I don't want to have this mod dependent on another mod that constantly requires updating every time Bethesda decides release a new Creation Club item or other updates to the base game that would otherwise have no effect on this mod.

==========
Installation
==========

  • Recommended: Use Nexus Mod Manager
  • Alternatively: Download manually.  Extract the zip into the root Fallout game folder and it should install files into their proper folders from there. See the Readme for more details.
  • Important: The overrides can optionally be used in addition to a main file to add more items to the All-Junk or Junk Exclusion lists. Make sure to enable no more than 1 override at a time and place the override after/below the main file in your load order!

============
Known Issues
============

  • A minor visual glitch that causes the buttons to vanish temporarily when looking away - doesn't impact its use at all.
  • Cannot use the Move-To-Warehouse button in Home Plate.

=========================
To-Do List for Future Versions
=========================
  • To fix the elusive vanishing buttons glitch when looking away from them.
    There is now a patch-mod available to correct the glitch, thanks to LordMithro.
  • To add a portable, reusable device for scrapping.
  • To add a power requirement for use. I'm not sure if would  have to be wired or just in range of power yet.
  • To create a custom texture for the main console and make it look more unique to this mod.
