This is a really useful mod, thanks for creating it. I would like to add some more names to the list but am stumped on how to do it. I notice all the nameplates are listed in a single .dds file. If I add new names to the list, how do I assign them to the .nif so it knows which portion of the .dds file to use? Is this something I can do in nifskope or do I need another program?
Sorry for the late response. Yes, you can do it in Nifskope, that's what I did. Once you make your changes to the DDS file, open the sign mesh file in Nifskope and click on the part of the sign that has the text. It should highlight a small rectangle, not the entire sign. Then right-click on that rectangle, and go to Texture > Edit UV. Then you'll see the nameplate DDS file with a green rectangle over the specific name that that particular sign mesh is using. Just select that rectangle until it's all yellow, then drag it to cover whatever name you want the sign to display.
I'm not sure what's happening, they are were they should be in the menu but they are invisible and can not be placed. I'm not sure what could be causing this.
so does this mod requires for you to be inside a vault(like vault 88) or not to be able to "see" them in workshop??
i combed my workshop menus and can;t seem to find the signs under "decorations/vault/signs"
i checked with fo4edit to see if any mod conflicts and so far none... i checked to make sure this is active in my load order and yes it is active.. yes i did compacted form id so i can convert this mod to espl, but the other signs mods i also compacted form id are working and showing up...
and the weird part is that the "showers" sign from this mod i was able to craft it(unless another mod adds same thing)... so i'm not sure why...
Yes, it does require you to be in Vault 88 until you complete the quest. That wasn't my decision, it's just that it's in the same menu as the rest of the signs, which requires you to complete the DLC's quests before you can build them outside of Vault 88.
I am sure glad i bothered to read this :) on the PLUS side Vault 88's quests also put the Vault-Tec build pieces into your workshop build menu usable everywhere, and also a Coffee Dispenser, Phoropter Machine, Power Cycle, and SLOTS Machine into your build menu usable everywhere too :)
** UPDATED!! I used this mod 'Official Content Settlement Objects Unlocked' which unlocks the quest requirements for all of the game and DLC's workshopp items to be displayed and used by us in our workshops we can build them all right away!! and it does NOT affect the quests :) why bloat a save file just to get access to cool workshop items? naughta! I used the OCSOU - Season Pass version and every workshop item in the game and all DLC's is unlocked!
Anyone know how to add additional signs to this? I looked into doing it myself, but all the signs share a single DDS texture, which I have no idea how to modify without breaking all the signs. I mainly wanted to add one that says "Fabrication", "Factory", or "Production" - I always give Vault 88 a large room where machinery scraps junk and/or manufactures other items onto conveyor belts.
When I first played FO3, there was a "Procreation is your civic duty" sign, of close(steam version). Did not find it last I played fo3, but it was the gog version. So I reloaded the steam version and found the sign, it appears during the 10th birthday party for the player. It is a scrolling sign on the wall as the screen appears for the party. There are a number of messages that scroll by as well.
Prior to installing the mod, the signs wouldn't automatically snap. They do now, but I don't see any of the extra signs not provided by the game? Any reason why the mod wouldn't work properly?
For me the signs snap to hallway doorways but not atrium doorways. How can I make it so that they snap to atrium walls too? I'm hoping it's a keywording thing in xedit rather than CK...
