About this mod
Cuts the scav engineer from Commonwealth Scavengers, so no more naked tech fanatics in exo-suits!
- Permissions and credits
So, I created this mod to eliminate that assault upon my immersion, albeit in a rather heavy-handed way, as I am certainly an amateur when it comes to modding, or even mod-tweaking.
WHAT THIS DOES:
I simply eliminated the Scav Engineer reference from the Commonwealth Scavvers .esp with FO4Edit. Clean, simple, and effective. This change eliminates that particular type of enemy from spawning entirely, though it leaves the rest of the Tech Fanatics alone. Note that this does mean that no enemies will spawn with the Scav Engineer gear now, so you'll either have to do without or console it in if you want it for yourself or your followers.
INSTALLATION & REQUIREMENTS:
You must already have Commonwealth Scavvers installed to use this. Simply install it as normal, and overwrite its .esp with this one. This mod will not function without the original already installed, as it is simply a tweak of the original's .esp, and contains none of its actual assets.
CHANGE LOG:
11-03-17: An optional file is now available, courtesy of Gambit77, which corrects the same issue with Commonwealth Scavvers as my own fix, albeit more cleanly and without eliminating the Scav Engineer enemy type from spawning entirely. According to him, "I set up the exoskeleton suit to use torso, arms and legs armor slots," removed it from showing up as an underwear, and thereby well and truly fixed the Scav Engineer problem rather than just cutting it out like I did. So, I highly recommend checking his version out if you find yourself missing the exo-suit in the raider spawn lists. One can find it under the optional files section of this mod page.
DISCLAIMER:
I created this mod (if one can even call it that) entirely for my own use, though I've had a few friends ask me to send it to them after mentioning it, so I figured I'd share it here as well for anyone else who might want it.
I actually held off on making this for quite a while, assuming Horus5 would address the issue in the next update to Commonwealth Scavvers, though, considering the fact that it was last updated more than a year ago at this point, I'm starting to suspect that updates aren't coming any time soon.
Should Horus5 take issue with this mod, or prove me wrong and update Commonwealth Scavvers in such a manner as to make this obsolete, I'll certainly take this mod down. 'Til then, enjoy.
