About this mod

I've cleaned up the meshes and added a bit more detail to the textures for a majority of the vehicles, adding flat and inflated tyres, doors, and/or partial interiors to some of the vehicles that were missing them. This only affects vehicles that are out of the nuclear blast areas.

This file is not a direct install. You will need to pick which items you want to add and place them in their appropriate folders...
I originally made this for myself because I just couldn't buy the fact that while I cryo-slept for two hundred plus years, some radiation addled sod of a mechanic dragged a floor jack around the Commonwealth and removed almost every tyre from it's rim. They then replaced the rims back onto the vehicles and went off to remove the next ones.

I've cleaned up the meshes, (fixing the vans ridiculous bullet styled headlights, adding flat or inflated tyres, axles, and/or partial interiors and replaced missing doors to some of the vehicles.) I've also added a bit more detail to the textures, especially to the seating, instrument cluster, turn signals and tail lights, to vehicles that were missing them. Changed the rim lug-nut count from 3 to 6 on the semi tires. (I didn't add collision to the interiors in case something in-game was in the vehicle already.)

I have no idea why Bethesda decided to remove the entire interior of most of the vehicles, it's not like that portion would rot away leaving the rest of it intact, nor did they use any of the parts anywhere else in the game. I've re-textured a few of the vehicles to a different hue than they were originally, most notably, the buses, tractors, and cranes. I've probably been playing to much GTA, but the lack of license plates bugged me, so I added several different Massachusetts plates with a futuristic version of the bar code design to most of the vehicles.

If you see vehicles that look un-altered it is because that instance of the vehicle is being used in a pre-combined mesh. You can change your Fallout4.ini to allow those vehicles to use the new meshes by adding or altering the line in the 'general' section bUseCombinedObjects=0. This will disable Fallout from using pre-combined meshes, lower end computers might see a fps drop in high density areas because it disables all pre-combined meshes in the game.

This mod works well with 'Homemaker - Expanded Settlements' and 'Settlement Supplies Expanded' which uses virtually all of the vehicles in settlement placement. Personally I use a vehicle damage modifier to strengthen the vehicles so they don't blow up with one or two random hits. There are several here on the Nexus.

I've added glow-maps to various items in the game that I felt should have reflective parts or paints, such as the traffic cones, barricades, and bollards. Unfortunately the stop lights and the parking meters, if you use them, will remain illuminated after being knocked down. I haven't figured out how to stop this affect.

The optional included .esl's are only needed if you use the re-meshed train, which hopefully now looks more like a train and less like a Salvador Dali painting. Crows land on one of the trains near the Starlight Drive-in and the .esl adjusts their sitting height so they don't float in midair. One of the esl's only changes the crow landing height, the other does the same plus adds another train near the Gunners Plaza that had several railroad cars but no engine, for a bit more immersion. The navmesh was not altered. Use one or the other, not both. The added train was placed on it's side to match the railcar pile-up that was already there. The vanilla collision for the trains have the bottom open, so it is possible to walk into the train from the underside, I would advise against doing it.

There is an optional file to give the stationwagon a metal roof instead of the glass bubble-top it originally had. (See images)

There is an optional file that alters the armored personnel carrier (APC), closing the gun ports and lengthening the main cannon. The brilliant white texture on the interior has been muted down to not be so blinding white and each model now has it's own serial number and turret orientation. The original meshes exterior is completely different from that of the interior, so closing the gun ports is the only option without completely remaking the interior or exterior. (See images)

There are optional files for the motorcycle meshes, (basic, two types of fenderless and two types of chopper,) and three texture color options with two types or rims. (See images)

The two police cars and the taxi are currently not in-game, I wanted to replace some of the overabundant bare car frames, but with the exception of carframe 04, the game keeps throwing up errors.

If you can get them to work, inform me how you did it,
and I'll list you as a co-author.
