Are you too poor to afford it?
Spending your caps on weapons, armor, supplies, and other gear?
Arriving in town at night and don't want to wait for the Mayor's office to open?
Got a glitch that prevents you from obtaining the key?
Just like to cheat?
Well then. Download this mod. Extract the key.txt file with your tool of choice. Winzip, peazip, 7zip, a pair of tweezers, a screwdriver, a jackhammer, or whatever you use. Copy and paste the key.txt file into your Fallout 4 installation directory (the folder where your game is installed).
Start up the game, and open up the developer's console by tapping the ~ key on your keyboard. It's on the left hand side, directly above your TAB key.
Type in bat key and then press your Enter key, then press the tilde ~ key again.
Now open your pip boy, go to the Misc tab, and low and behold, you have a free key to the player home, Home Plate in Diamond City.
Enjoy!
Version 1.1 Now also adds the Diamond City map marker to your map. Without having to Get the Wasteland Survival Magazine, or talk to Trashcan Carla. Does not activate fast travel to Diamond City, only makes it show up on your map.
During playtest, map would not update while inside Vault 111. Recommend to use after you exit the Vault!
To update to newer version simply copy n paste key.txt into your fallout 4 folder, and click YES when windows asks to overwrite the file. Go in game and redo the command in the console for bat key.
To uninstall, go to your Fallout 4 installation directory, find "key.txt" in the folder (name is without quotes) and simply delete it.
If you already have a file named "key.txt" in your instal folder, free to rename "key" to whatever you can remember. But you'll have to type in the new name, after you type bat in the console.
Thanks for looking.
