What this mod does:

Have you forgot where you sent your companion when you released them? Did they get lost or stuck on the way? Did you tell them to stay somewhere and forgot where?

This mod allows you to craft a free, weightless aid item that summons the vanilla companion of your choice to you immediately. You can create the aid item at the Chemistry Lab under the "Summoner" section.

This was created for a friend of mine who misplaced one of his companions. So further development will not be supported.

DLC companions has been expanded. Official DLC companions have a special code check to enable them if you have them installed. Other mod companions are supported if they use the vanilla system. There is a generic current companion item which will work for any NPC that is supported by the vanilla companion system. Crafted robots should fit this criteria. Drop me a message and let me know if you try it.

CAUTIONS:

  • There is next to no sanity checking.
  • You should only use the summon item for npcs who you have previous recruited, or been given the option to recruit. This should help prevent breaking any quests.
  • It does not check or change their affinity or hostility. So if you made them hate you then they won't let you talk to them to have them join you. If they're hostile such as if you made the Railroad hate you and you summon Deacon he'll attack. Same with Paladin Danse and X6-88 with the appropriate quest progression to make them hostile.
  • Some may be able to be summoned even if you haven't progressed quests to the point you would normally meet them. In which case they may be hostile, or just ignore you. This can cause those quests to get bugged because the npc isn't where it's supposed to be when you get to that place of the quest.
  • Some summons may fail if the actor hasn't been spawned. Example: Cait. If you haven't been to Combat Zone and try to summon her nothing happens.
