Hotfix for the dialogues-disappearing-bug during and possibly after the "Fort Independence" quest
Version 0.3.3
Fixed a bug causing Hartfield's quest starting too early and resulting in being unable to use the holotape as you were not the General yet.
Dialogue fix (recruit option not showing up) if you are using a "true dialogue" mod.
Version 0.3.2
Fixed a bug that made "Defend"-Quests unassignable under certain circumstances.
Version 0.3.1
Added an option to the holotape that allows you to abort a scavenge mission if you need an available squad quickly(e.g. a defend quest plops up) or if they somehow got stuck while scavenging.
Version 0.3
Added “Master Sergeant Hartfield” - His quest will spawn automatically shortly after you became the General. You need to be outside of Sanctuary though. You’ll get the Command Holotape from him now. He also handles recruitment. You can assign him to any settlement you like as he is handled like a regular settler for now and will become a companion in version 0.4.
Cost changed to 300 caps for all squads (from 250/500/750 caps)
Cost changed to 150 caps for Minutemen settlers (from 100 caps)
Regular settlers are now for free (from 50 caps)
“Defend”-settlements quests that plop up from your Pip-Boy are now assignable to a squad. NOTE: There are a few defend quests that are added by DLCs. These are NOT included.
You don’t need to talk to Preston after your squad finished a mission anymore, if you finished the assault on The Castle (“Taking Independence”) and restored the radio tower.
The “Minutemen Command Module”-Holotape is now craftable at the chemtable once you finished Hartfields initial quest.
Minutemen settlers and regular settlers are now assignable to a settlement right away at purchase.
Fixed a bug that allowed to assign multiple squads to a single mission
Version 0.2
You now need to complete the radiants by talking to Preston, after your Squad finished their assignment.
Squads are now leveling with the Player Character
Increased the number of possible scavenging locations
Version 0.1.1
Fixed not getting the holotape on an existing savegame if you already were General but did not assault the castle yet.
Possibly fixed that Squad Alpha does not return from missions to Sanctuary, if you were using mods that change the location.
Ever wondered why you are supposed to rebuild society AND to deal with minor settlement issues, while your soldiers are just hanging out drinking Nuka-Cola all day long? Well I did. Wake up soldier, your General got some orders for you!
What does this mod do? Shortly after you become the General, a quest will start that introduces you to "Master Sergeant Hartfield". Just make sure not to be in Sanctuary or the quest won't trigger. MSG. Hartfield allows you to recruit squads or settlers and gives you a command holotape. Using this holotape, you can assign the squads to Prestons radiant quests (unlocking the settlement if it was unowned), defend settlements (the Pip-Boy defend missions) or to scavenge for resources if there is nothing up. By talking to the Squadleader of any given squad you can also command them to follow you, recruit new soldiers if one of them died or to promote them.
Usage Minutemen Squads: Once recruited you can assign them to a radiant quest, defend settlement quest or for a scavenge mission. It will take some time as they have to walk to the mission destination and hang around there for 3-6 ingame hours. If you are trying to pass the time with "wait" or "sleep" it might take a little bit longer(not intended, it's how it is). If they got nothing to do, they will return to HQ and sandbox there. They do not count towards the settler count and can be traded with. If you are ever wondering what they are doing right now, check the SITREP. They are stationed in Sanctuary if you did not assault The Castle yet or in The Castle if you took it back. The resources from their scavenge hunts are stored in a crate next to the workshop.
Settlers: Pretty straight forward. Recruit them and assign them to any settlement right away. Unlike vanilla Minutemen settlers, they can be moved to any other settlement if you like. Regular and Minutemen Settlers spawned by this mod do not count towards the population cap.
Installation Just download it via Vortex or manually and put it into your Fallout 4 Data folder. That's it.
Compatibility Propably incompatible with any mod that edits Minutemen quests. Should work with any Minutemen replace or overhaul unless they alter vanilla quest entries. However, I actually do not recommend any mod reducing the amount of radiant quests as you will end up only sending your squads to scavenge missions.
Troubleshooting If you are using a replacement mod, make sure to use it before calling in your first squad. Otherwise their vanilla gear will already be in their inventory. However you can easily change it manually anyway.
When deinstalling a replacement mod it could happen that your squads/settlers have no armor/weapon/face depending on what the replacement mod did. Using the "recycleactor" command on them, traveling far away and back to them should fix that.
