So what vice are you catering for today?
Online gambling.

Aren't you against gambling, and didn't you already do a gambling mod?
Yep to both, but this mod is slightly different.

How so?
Well this is what Working Slot Machines should have been.

When I had the initial idea for Working Slot Machines, the actual idea was a holotape you could play at a terminal or on your Pipboy.  At the time I didn't fully understand how to make the holotape work, so instead made the slot machines.  A few weeks back I started messing around with terminals, fragments, and conditions and it pretty much made sense.  So here it is.  There's also another game included to gamble on, and it's completely DLC-free.

What's the deal with the games?
The first one is your basic slot machine, which pays out depending on what you get.  It works by rolling a D10 for itself and another 2 rolls for you which are limited by your luck(1).  The first roll is whether you get a win, and the second is what you've actually won.  The maximum win on the slots is 150 caps plus a jackpot bonus which has 1 cap added to it each time  you play until you drop the jackpot.

Magic Number is a game where you need to  get an equal or higher number than the House.  This works by rolling a D10 for itself, and then another roll for you, which is also limited by your luck.  If you roll a higher number than the House then you win 2x the amount you bet as well as your original stake (5, 10 or 20 caps).  If you roll the same number as the House then it's a magic number and you get 5x the amount you bet as well as your original stake.

All winnings are paid into your account.

What account?
Well this is online gambling, so you need to open an account(2), which requires 100 caps although you'll get a 10% new account bonus.  The account is where your winnings are stored and you can withdraw them whenever you want from the account management section.  Once you've created an account it will be accessible from any Lucky 444 terminal or holotape.  Lucky 444 also accept charge cards(3) as a method of payment once an account is created, and they can be redeemed at the rate of 110 caps per card.

You said there's a terminal?
Yes.  It's a settlement object that you can play on (your settlers might use it to).  It gives revenue to the settlement and has a happiness bonus of 10.  To get it you first need to create the Lucky 444 Holotape (1 adhesive, 2 aluminum, 1 rubber) which is found under Utility in the Chembench.  After you've created you need to open an account, which will unlock the plans for the gambling terminal.  Now go to Power and Miscellaneous in the settlement builder and you'll be able to create the Lucky 444 Gambling Terminal (4 aluminum, 2 circuitry, 2 copper, 2 rubber and 1 Lucky 444 Holotape).

Is any of this animated?
No.  I don't have the expertise to do that, and I'm not sure how it would work in the terminal or Pipboy anyway.

Are there any outside settlements?
Yes.  There's one in the Dug Out Inn in DC (in the corner to the left of the bar), the Third Rail (in the room where Macready is) and Memory Den (just inside the entrance) in Goodneighbour, two in the Combat Zone (in the entrance lobby, and to the left of the door to the office) and one in the Shamrock Taphouse (near the pool table).

Why have all the buttons disappeared since I withdrew/lost all of my money?
The system checks to see if you have a high enough account balance to play any of the games, withdraw money, etc.  If you have a zero account balance then you'll need to deposit money (100 caps) to play again.  It does mention this in the first screen after you create an account, but why would anyone want to read information and it's only there for shits and giggles.

How do I get it?
Simply download the file.  It's an ESL tagged ESP so won't take up a modslot.  There's also an optional patch which turns the terminal into a standard terminal model so it doesn't get confused with the Vault Tec Management console.

You are aware that the Chinese regard the number 4 as unlucky?
Duh!  My ex was Chinese(4).  It's also a play on a real world online casino.

So is that it?
Yep.  Love/hate/enter a life of indentured servitude.

Footnotes?
1 - Don't bother trying to break it by setting your luck to some extreme amount.  It checks for this.  The Magic Number pays out fairly frequently if your luck is around 9 or 10 anyway.
2 - Before someone thinks this is real, IT'S IN GAME ONLY!  You literally click the button and that's it.  No e-mail addresses, passwords or anything are transmitted, it's just flavour.
3 - What online casino doesn't accept card payments?
4 - It sounds similar to the Chinese word for death.
