About this mod

Adds new voice module for the Automatron follower robots that replaces the voice lines with a selection from Soldier of Team Fortress 2.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Nothing can keep a good mercenary down, especially a invigorating nuclear war! From the badlands of.. Badlands, a true American hero rises to rid the Commonwealth of cursed communism of both perceived and specualtive type, and to uphold the great virtues of freedom, glory and mayhem! Team up with the legendary Mister Jane Doe in thrilling adventures only hampered by lack of rocketjumping! Why he is a robot tough, only the Administrator knows.

This mod adds a new voice module for your Automatron robots that gives them voice lines from Soldier from Team Fortress 2. (As such it doesn't overwrite any other voice modules or conflict with mods, hopefully.) It should be craftable upon mod installation. This mod requires the Automatron DLC, if that wasn't obvious.

I've tried to select the lines to make as much sense as I can, so the soldier will mostly refer to raiders as hippies, bugs as maggots, super mutants as commies etc. If you like him less cahtty, you can ask him to "disable his personality" like any vanilla robot, but that is two big words and he'll just take that as an insult to his ammended freedoms.

Now, don't get too exited. This mod lacks basically any polish and has many outstanding issues that I feel very lazy about fixing:
 - While the voices are changed, their subtitles are not
 - Some voice lines are missing. I tought I replaced them all, but apparently not
 - Due to the thematic differences between TF2 and F4, especially many of the more complicated lines are replaced with more generic ones
 - Also everything is original TF2 content, no AI or line splicing has been used to make new lines adding to above mentioned
 - Since the voices are only replaced, many actions lack voice line variety and thus some of them tend to repeat to a tedium
 - Conversly many of the more expressive lines are tied to rare events that are easy to miss
 - Many of the lines are quite long and often get cut off by other lines

This mod was just a side project of mine and was just sitting on my hard drive for a long time. I decided to upload it now mostly out of "eh, why not". All assets are property of Valve. I also have zero objections if someone else wants to improve on this idea and make their own version.

Finally, this work is not dedicated to Rick May, this work is not good enough for that and his amazing contributions.
Rest In Peace, Richard J. May (1940 – 2020). You were the best, there is no maybe about it.
