About this mod
Adds plasma and institute receivers to the gatling laser. Adds gauss, .50 caliber, and ten 5mm receivers to the minigun. Changes sounds and animations for ammo conversions. Rebalances gatling laser barrels. Removes spin ups. Fixes Nuclear Physicist rank 2 bug. Increases magazine size through perks when using fusion cores in the gatling laser.

Gatling Laser
- Plasma chamber receiver. Level 69. Uses plasma cartridges. 60 normal/60 energy damage. Changes firing sound and animation to the ones from the plasma rifle.
- Institute capacitor receiver. Level 63. Uses fusion cells. 45 energy damage. Changes firing sound and animation to the ones from the institute rifle.
- Charging barrels changed to minigun tri-barrel speed. Damage component removed from charging barrels (see notes below).
- Beam focuser no longer changes firing animation.
Minigun
- Gauss coils receiver. Level 65. Uses 2mm EC. 96 normal damage. Changes firing sound and animation to the ones from the gauss rifle.
- .50 caliber receiver. Level 59. Uses .50 caliber. 64 normal damage. Changes firing sound to the one from the .50 caliber hunting rifle. Animation unchanged.
- Ten 5mm receivers based on assault rifle receivers
- Damage component removed from barrels. Receivers handle this now.
- Ballistic impact changed to small impact on 5mm receivers. The .50 caliber receiver has the large impact effect.
Misc Changes
- Spin ups removed from gatling laser, minigun, and vertibird miniguns.
- New dynamic naming labels added for plasma, gauss, and institute receivers.
- Nuclear Physicist rank 2 bug fixed. Ranks will now stack.
- Nuclear Physicist increases gatling laser magazine size by rank when using fusion cores. At rank 3, you can have 1000 rounds. The repair bobblehead can boost it to 1100 rounds, but must be acquired prior to adding ranks to Nuclear Physicist. This was done to use a full fusion core when reloading and not have fractional cores build up in the inventory. However, if you reload before emptying the magazine, fractional cores will still be a problem.
Notes
- Damage values for conversion receivers are based on existing maxed-out versions of the weapons. The exception is the gauss coils minigun receiver, which is set to 50% of the maxed-out rifle. This is because uncharged gauss rounds do 50% damage in the base game.
- Charging barrels on the gatling laser have been standardized to equal the minigun tri-barrel speed. The damage component has been removed to balance the plasma receiver, which wouldn’t work otherwise. However, even with the old damage bonus, charging barrels were actually a huge dps loss over the standard barrels. That difference has been dramatically reduced, but standard barrels still do slightly higher dps in exchange for reduced range and accuracy.
- Repair bobblehead and Nuclear Physicist ranks can be manually removed and added back in the correct order using console commands. Use player.removeperk [ID] and player.addperk [ID]. ID's are as follows: rank 1 1D246F, rank 2 1D2470, rank 3 1D2471, and repair bobblehead 178B5E.
- Alters the guns themselves and not just the weapon upgrades. Other mods that change the gatling laser or minigun may not work with this mod. I have tested the Creation Club weapon skins though, which do work for sure.
