A set of patches to integrate some popular mods with Horizon (1.8 currently). Check description/mod requirements sections for Specifics
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
Summary
This page hosts several esp/esl replacers for popular mods that allow their integration with Horizon 1.8.
As time goes on, I may add more patches - check the requirements rollout above or the description below to see what's available!
Unless otherwise stated, you MUST install the original mod first, and then the respective patch from this page afterwards, overwriting when prompted. Use of a mod manager such as Mod Organizer 2 is HIGHLY recommended.
Requirements
- Fallout 4 v1.10.163 or higher
- Horizon 1.8
- Any original mod you wish to patch - the exact version that I have patched is specified below in the description, or on the respective download on the files tab.
Installation - With Mod Manager (Recommended)
- Download the original mod first, and install. Check that the version matches the version that I have patched!
- Download the respective patch from this page, and install.
- Move the respective esp file AFTER Horizon in your load order (Horizon should load first). IF YOU DON'T DO THIS, YOU MAY WELL EXPERIENCE STABILITY ISSUES AND CTDs! Follow the Horizon load order guide on the Horizon page!
Installation - Manual (Very Much Not Recommended)
- Download the original mod first, and install. Check that the version matches the version that I have patched!
- Download the respective patch from this page, and install.
- When prompted to overwrite, click YES
Uninstallation
Uninstallation during an existing playthrough is NOT recommended. It may break your game or cause crashing if you remove the mod mid-playthrough.
To uninstall otherwise, remove via the usual uninstallation methods of choice for the mod manager you are using, or manually delete the files contained within the download archive.
Available Patches
Catalyst AAS Shotgun
For version 1.1
Features
- Integrated into loot tables as a rare, very high level end-game shotgun. A very powerful weapon, but requires significant investment in skills to upgrade and use effectively.
- Full support for Horizon's item sorting equipment condition, ammunition, and augmentation and scrap systems.
- Distributed across various factions as loot, and available to purchase from Horizon's Market Trading Terminal from Trevor.
- Once reverse-engineered, can be crafted at the ZX-1 Experimentation Lab.
HK G3 Family
For version 1.1
Features
- Integrated into Loot Tables - the R91 (FO3 assault rifle chambered in 5.56) will spawn relatively commonly, in degraded, deteriorated or ruined configurations. The G3, HK53 and PSG-1 are much rarer, and will typically only drop rarely from high-level enemies favouring Ballistic Weapons.
- Many thanks to Greb751 and Sars99 from the Horizon Discord for helping creating a custom 5.56 mm/.308/7.62 mm ammo list that supports Horizon's in-field fire selection! Greb has also cleaned up the mod quite a bit, converting the damage adjustment to proper receivers.
- Full support for Horizon's item sorting equipment condition, ammunition, and augmentation and scrap systems.
- Distributed across various factions as loot, and available to purchase from Horizon's Market Trading Terminal from Trevor.
- You can reverse engineer any G3 variant (except Salvation) at the ZX-1 Experimentation Lab, and craft one yourself.
- Unique Variant (Salvation) now has support for Horizon systems, but CANNOT be auto-scrapped or crafted at the ZX-1 lab.
Gatling Rifle
For version 1.8
Features
- HEAVILY patched to fit into Horizon's weapon environment. There is no longer one single type of gatling rifle that accepts all the various receiver types in the original mod. Instead, in order to support Horizon's balance and ammo systems, there are now THREE distinct Gatling Rifle types - 5mm, laser, and plasma. These are distinct weapon types and CANNOT be converted between each other.
- 5mm type accepts all 5mm Horizon ammo types.
- Laser type uses the same ammunition as the gatling laser (electron cells, fusion cells and heavy fusion cells)
- Plasma type uses either electron cells or plasma cartridges.
- The tri-barrel does less damage (and thus less paper DPS), but has bonuses to critical damage and gives a slight armor-piercing, making it more specialized against hardened targets
- Integrated into Loot Tables - will first spawn on Brotherhood NPCs such as knights/paladins and a few levels later on Gunner/Raider Boss/Super Mutants/RR Heavy enemies.
- Full support for Horizon's item sorting equipment condition, ammunition, and augmentation and scrap systems.
- Distributed across various factions as loot, and available to purchase from Horizon's Market Trading Terminal from Trevor (level restricted for balancing purposes).
- You can reverse engineer any variant at the ZX-1 Experimentation Lab, and craft one yourself.
M72 Gauss Rifle
For version 1.1
Features
- Integrated into Loot Tables as an alternative to the standard Gauss Rifle.
- UPDATED 20/07/2021 - The M72 now has a full receiver system to improve damage and has the relevant keyword added to allow it to level Horizon's Sniper skill.
Tumbajamba's XM73 Gauss Rifle
For version 1.1
Features
- Integrated into Loot Tables as an alternative to the standard Gauss Rifle.

The Holey Machete - Totally Not the Machete from Book Of Eli
For version 1.1
Features
- Dropped as loot as an alternative to the Machete.
- Full support for Horizon's item sorting equipment condition, ammunition, and augmentation and scrap systems.
