Fallout 4 engine has a nasty bug(that nobody could fundamentally fix) where spawned projectiles blow up under your feet when you lock on a target below any geometry. I had a massive ear rape while using Top Attack Fatman Targeting Computer, which is otherwise a very cool mod, and decided to fix it(though it's still a work around).
Now the projectiles will become duds instead of blowing up under your feet.
