Version 1.0.0
Initial Release
The goal of this mod was to completely redesign the look of the vanilla "assault rifle." The original was a bit of an ugly design and this will offer a new model to look at. This mod is simply a re-mesh and should be compatible with any additive mods like AARP.
There are two versions of the main file:
The MG69 Replacer: Comes complete with the re-mesh as well as a rechamber to .308 and a rename of the weapon to the "MG69 Machine Gun"
The Assault Rifle Re-mesh: Just the re-mesh, no other changes.
The new redesign is based on a combination of the original "assault rifle" and the MG-69 designed by John P. Foote (shown in images above), and even has a bit of lore as to how it ended up in the fallout universe.
Essentially J.P. Foote's great grandson Jeffrey H. Foote ended up following in his footsteps designing weapons for the military. After recovering some of his great grandfather's old designs, Jeffrey landed a contract to design a new squad heavy weapon with the purpose of fighting off power armor. Taking the design of the original MG-69 and converting the belt-fed mechanism into a mag-fed system for faster reloads, the project was finished and put into production in 2069. Jeffrey appropriately named the weapon after its predecessor.
