Basically what this does is replace the sound file for the charging tesla rifle to a blank .wav file effectively muting it.
Giving the tesla rifle AT ALL to your companions or an NPC will infect them with an incurable disease known as the tesla rifle loop bug.
I've searched many reddit threads trying to fix this issue but none of those solutions worked for me so after going through a lot of sound files on xedit I found out that the gauss rifle and tesla rifle charge up sounds were separate entities, they shared the exact same sound effect but they were separate files so I simply found out the file name for the tesla charge sound and replaced it with a blank .wav file.
With this fix you should also be able to safely give your companion the tesla rifle for them to use though I never tested it myself. Don't know why you would though it's a bugged piece of shit anyway lmfao.
This is my first mod and most likely last so idk much about how you'd install something as simple as this. I guess download it using your favorite mod manager OR just put it in your data folder.
