About this mod
Controller Configuration files that use controller buttons as mcm keys for mods without the usage of other programs
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- Changelogs
- Donations
Bethesda never played a game with a controller, and the mod configuration menu also dont let us assign controller buttons as keys, so i decided to make my own controller files for fallout that takes care of these two things
- Mod keys on the controller
- Modern Controls (nobody wants to jump with Y)
Anyway which mod Keys does it include so far?
- WheelMenu
- Quick Modification Weapon
- VAFS Redux
- Uneducated Shooter
- Tactical Action Extension Package
HUGE UPDATE

XDI is only compatible with XDI versions

Please let me know which mods need proper controller support
every suggetions are welcome
Protip for Uneducated Shooter
if a version has dpad left and right are act as quickkey (qk), then this ini settings work with this version
- ToggleLean=1
- LeanLeft=0x0004
- LeanRight=0x0008
- ADSOnly=1
this are the same values provided in uneducated cover version
Optional files are meant to use for people who want to change something theirselves
Controller controls codes
read file description for more information
Controller Controls MCM First Aid Kit
look at the notes down below
Notes to Wheelmenu/Q.M.W and slide
Sliding is supported again but only in combination with XDI
Non XDI version are not Compatible with XDI
XDI versions are not Compatible with FDI or Vanilla Dialogue
Close wheelmenu/Q.M.W with the button you opened it otherwise you will sneak if leave it with B button for XDI versions
Notes to Uneducated Versions
I added an ini file for every uneducated version because of plug and playability if you switch between versions
because i only touched the keycodes for leanleft and leanright, i suggest to configure everything else to your liking (unless i sayed that i touched it as well)
Notes to the First Aid Kit
For those who messed up their Keybinds.json while changing something theirselves
Mo2 Users have to copy MCM folder from this file to their overwrite, everyone else just set it to highest priority and overwrite anything that conflicts
All mods i covered here (and some more) are there, everything is unassigned
Slide function from TAEP is still set to B (277)
No more need to to set a random keyboard key to configurate something i covered in one of my versions
it also doesnt matter if you dont have the mods covered there (it will make no difference)
so dont worry and use this lifesaver
Notes to AIO feature bloat
Questions you might have
wtf is qk10/11/12?
favorite quickkey. You need to assign items on the down/low column of the favorites menu
WHERE IS VATS!!?
Vats is for Noobs dude, use Vafs
why not just assign wheelmenu or Q.M.W to dpad down in mcm?
Because it will mess up XDI
If you use FDI or vanilla nevermind it but make sure to set 0x0002 to 0xff in controlmaps quickkey section
Why Tactical Extension Package and not Slide Mod?
Input Lag but i may upload slide mod version on request though
With the first aid kit you can however use slide mod instead of TAEP set it to 277
But the usage of first aid kit requires that you actually know what to do
Why no combo buttons like in skyrim?
Engine Limitations, every try leaded to CTD on Save Load
I uploaded a second controller Mod for Fallout that take usage of combo buttons for MCM keys but it will however requires my steam controller setup
Why those different version crap?
Because of different preferences crap
and because i want to switch between them sometimes
Why this image?
Wanted to call the mod "modern first person controller controls" first but i cant replicate call of duty like controls without usage of custom scripts or third party programs. So it dont deserve this name.
Install Instructions
You need to Overwrite EVERYTHING that is conflicting with this mod (even the overwrite folder) otherwise it will not work
Set the controls ingame to default after installation
dont work on a new game only on existing save, and only on a save where mcm is previously installed
Best if the save file already has the requiered mods previously installed (dont know how it is on a save where the mods are not previously installed)
However Uneducated shooter is excluded (because it dont depends on mcm)
Unfortunately you have to rebind your mcm keys that are not covered here again in the mcm, DO NOT TOUCH the mcm keys of the mods i covered here
If you know what you do then i have an optional file that covers three sorts of Controller codes, if you want to change something yourself or just dont want to google them everytime
Special notes for Mo2 user
if you dont do management with your overwrite folder, copy the MCM folder from MY File in Your Overwrite, you will be ask if you want to replace keybinds.json just click on yes thats that
Repeat this step everytime you switch to another version
Special notes for Vortex user
Dont tested it with vortex it may or may not be work with it because i dont know how vortex handles the overwrite folder, please leave a comment if not, i will make some sort of workaround for vortex users then
Special notes for NMM user

Implementation of a Mod that seperates grenade and melee
Bugfixes/Workarounds (tomorrow or so)
Second Version of Uneducated shooter support (leave suggetions how to improve the first one)
Modern First Person Controller Controls (seperate mod with Call of Duty like controls)
Incompatible Mods
- Toggle Aim
- Everything else that come with CustomControlMap.txt like this this or this
Only the recommended controlmap version is incompatible, however the mod author has a solution provided as readme.txt to edit your controlmap to make things work, i suggest to read it and tweak my controlmap carefully based on his instructions
Known Issues
- AIO feature Bloat no longer supported use my other mod instead, but it will require my steam controller setup
- You have to leave the Q.M.W menu with the button you opened it otherwise you will sneak after leave with XDI versions
