Thanks to SUP F4SE and Lighthouse Papyrus Extender, this works without the need for any compatibility patches. Anything which is scrappable in workshop mode, or buildable in any way, should also be scrappable by the Universal Disassembler. This includes Stimpacks, Grenades, craftable settings holotapes from other mods, even it's own portable version! Oh, yes, there is also a portable version. It lacks some of the advanced features of the workshop-buildable machine, but it still can be used for mass scrapping on the go!
Requirements
This mod requires F4SE version 0.6.23 or higher, as well as either SUP F4SE version 9.45 or higher, Lighthouse Papyrus Extender version 1.7.0 or higher, or Garden of Eden Papyrus Script Extender version 19.3 or higher. If several are installed, Eden will be preferred over Lighthouse over SUP_F4SE, unless you change it in the options.
See the Limitations section below for the relevant difference between SUP F4SE and Lighthouse/Eden in regard of this mod.
Usage
Stationary version
Build the Universal Disassembler from under Resources -> Misc.
Use the lid at the front to load items manually. Alternatively, you can use the number pad to the right to store all the junk you are carrying, or to transfer items from the Workshop into the machine.
Press the red button on the left side to start. The nixie tubes at the top should light up, and show you the progress of the scrapping process. The machine should lock itself while scrapping.
Once the process is finished, the machine should unlock, and allow you to take the scrap. Alternatively, you can use the number pad again to transfer the contents into the Workshop.
The number pad also gives you access to the Settings Menu. The settings affect both the stationary and the portable disassemblers.
Here are the possible options:
- Scrap Unscrappable Objects: determines whenever items flagged with the keyword "UnscrappableObject" can be scrapped. In the vanilla game, legendary items are, for example. Default: OFF.
- Lossy Scrapping: determines whenever the "Scrapper" perks (technically: the scrap scalars) and the global scrapping factor (default: 0.5) are respected while scrapping. If on, you will only recieve the scrap which you would get when scrapping manually. If off, you will always get everything as specified in the scrap recipe. Turning this off is technically cheating, if you care about that sort of thing. Default: ON.
- Allow Portable Scrapping Without Item: instead of using the Portable Disassembler from your inventory, you can also use MCM or FO4 Hotkeys to configure a hotkey to open the portable crafting container. If you turn this option on, you don't even need the item. Default: OFF.
- Preferred Plugin: This option should only appear if you have both SUP_F4SE and Lighthouse Papyrus Extender installed. The option then allows you to choose which plugin you want to use. Default: Lighthouse.
If MCM is installed, these options can be changed from there as well.
Portable version
Craft a Portable Disassembler from under Utility at a Chemistry Workbench.
Use it from under Aid in your inventory. This should open a container interface.
Put anything you want to scrap into this container and close it. This should show you a confirmation message. If you select "Cancel", the items will be returned to you. Otherwise, the items will be processed, and the produced scrap will be put into your inventory.
As an alternative to using the item from your inventory, you can also set up a hotkey in the MCM menu, or, if you use FO4 Hotkeys, this is the command to use:
cqf praSM_ScrapMachineMain hotkeyPortableScrapping
Disclaimer
I consider this mod to be a beta at this point. I think it works well enough, but it might be still somewhat rough around the edges. You have been warned.
Limitations
- If running using SUP F4SE, this mod cannot distinguish between a scrap recipe and build recipe. This limitation isn't present if running using Lighthouse or Garden of Eden.
- It will prefer recipes without any workbench keyword, if possible. Such a recipe is not guaranteed to be a scrap recipe by any means, but it might produce better results in some cases at least.

- This mod cannot tell if removing all mods from a weapon will leave it in a valid state, and will err on deleting it. That is, if you put in a weapon which is neither scrappable nor buildable, but has at least one object modification, it will be gone. Whenever you recieve anything at all, depends on whenever the modifications yielded anything.
Known Issues
Some users experience the game freezing when using the portable disassembler. The reason for this is still unknown, but a possible workaround might be the usage of Escape Freeze F4SE.
