Description
Shield Expansion is a Shield Integration Project addon, focusing on bringing new paint jobs to the
existing shields added by the mod and tweaking a few small things. Most of the
original mod’s paint jobs are still available at the Armor Workbench, while new
ones are provided and made the default version. I tried to make the new paint
jobs fit in within the universe as much as I could, sometimes using concept art
references and existing in-game objects and their palette to achieve this.
Due note that some paint jobs are locked behind visiting places and completing certain quests, to
make things more interesting and add a small sense of progression and something
to show for your adventures, but most of them are intuitive enough to figure
out. There is also 1 new and unique shield added which I won’t spoil here, but
as small hint, they call these types of shields Tower.
Main Changes
  • 40+ new paint jobs added, not counting the original ones
  • 1 unique shield added
  • Dynamic naming system to the shields in introduced
  • The original names of the shields changed to better fit with dynamic naming system
  • Small original model edits, such as UV map changes
  • New inventory view for all the shields
  • New loading screen(WIP)
  • Some shields will spawn with random paint job applied
  • Some new and original mod’s paint jobs locked behind a quest or location discovery

Planned
  • Fix possible bugs and typos
  • Expand upon the paint job variety
  • Add new unique shield variants

About Fallout Variety Expansion (FVE)
FVE is a little project started by me, inspired by the likes of Spice of Life for New Vegas and
Scavenger Armors for Fallout 3, as well as numerous modders expanding upon
the games content with their wonderful creations. I’ve been modding for many
years, but mostly kept my mods to myself for many reasons, but now I think I’ve
got enough experience and the mods themselves are of good enough quality that
others can enjoy them too.
The project itself will be a series of mods, varying in size and scope, expanding upon various
game areas and sometimes other people’s creations, with permission granted from
the original authors. Although, at the moment, no new gameplay mechanics in the
chain of mods are planned, this could change in the future.
