I won't lie, I hated the Metal Armour of Fallout 4 it tried its hardest to look like mad-max which made it looked bulky and huge, having T-45 for pauldrons, spikey bits pointing out like a cancer, butt ugly under cloth and that utterly hideous knife thing mounted on the left wrist, pure horror.
Well I much prefer my armour practical and contemporary, rather than seeing countless people skipping and downloading tacticool mods, I wanted to keep the post-apocalyptic primitive feel of the armour, which thankfully has resulted in a realistic style suit of armour comparable to 15th century European Armour.
The light armour is plain and minimal, it is cheap and only has the cuirass with knee and armpads to protect the user
The Medium armour is indeed modeled off of 16th century higher end "Munition Armour" this type of armour was mass produced for centuries from the 15th-17th centuries century usually made of Iron or steel that was typical able to withstand musket fire. The leg armour looks real nice.
Heavy armour is straight to the point, it add more pouches, a belt, leg protection is completely full of heavy steel parts as well as the ugly pauldrons have been meshed into a nice large casted steel pauldron.
Another addition is the Metal Helmet, which at this point is the third attempt this year of changing up the metal helmet.
Now this armour isn't all flawless, it has issues that sadly I am not too bothered fixing or I cannot with my limited skills. The first and immediate issue is that the Super Mutant Chest Armour that I say so graciously stole does not convert to the base Metal Armor paints or any paint, I have tried fixing it by adding various bits of pieces of the original metal armour to it, which will help differenciate the armour when painted, mind you this is a visual flaw, the chest piece is designed so that you WILL notice which type you have painted.
Another glairing issue is that Female characters who set the vanilla bodyslide to its most muscular values will have the upper chest pouches clip very badly, same goes with making the vanilla male body too obese. It's not the biggest issue mind you, everything else is either minor or unnoticeable, but it can irritate some people.
