This remesh mainly completely revamps all 6 raider light armor variants, all buttressed armor variants and the full raider heavy and medium armor set. Yes, all of them have been changed to fit a more practical set of armour that can be believably built in the wastelands of North America.
The Light Armour Chestplate sets generally offer a decent variety, ranging from tactical harnesses to just simple bags and ammunition pouches, both available for vanilla female and male. They are literally just any form of metal mittened together with the leather cloth to carry it. It can probably bounce off some shrapnel and .22 rounds if ya lucky!
The rest of the armour follows the classic ramshackled feel of Raider Armor, if you thought my metal armor remesh looked crude, oh boi! these things look hardly practical. As you advance from light to "heavy" armour, Raider Armour will begin to be more "professionally" crafted, most likely able to probably deflect most low calibre bullets.
Now if you want some proper quality of armour, "Buttressed" Armour will provide much better protection. For this reason, Buttressed Raider Armour is made of much higher quality steel. Light and medium armor generally follow Combat Armour design with shoulder and chest protection. Medium armor has a very nice modern "chest plate" design that most modern militaries use for chest protection, not bad at all!
The real star of the show is the segmented buttressed heavy armor. This beast is largely a mix of late medieval era Japanese samurai armor with crap loads of thick riveted iron plates being attached to it like the traditional European "Coat of Plates." Its stats vanilla are also damn good too, better than light Combat Armour, so it's an excellent mid-game armour to pack.
COMPATIBILITIES
1. Some modded clothing will not fit properly with this armour, in particular, the leather vest from the combat armour will constantly clip through, Heavy Buttressed and normal Heavy Raider armor has less of this issue however. Vanilla don't have this issue as much.
2. Any retexture should be compatible since I only kitbashed Raider, Brotherhood, Metal Armour and Combat Armour pieces. Use those retextures to view the changes. Using just Raider retextures will only change 80% of the textures, not all of it (Pouches mostly, Harness and Leather vest). This isn't as big of a problem as the Metal Armour chest piece.
3. This is not CBBE compatible, but you can make a conversion yourself, I don't use CBBE in general.
Vault suit's neck collar slightly clips the buttressed heavy armour's neckpiece. I am not bothered adjusting the whole neck armour for that.
ISSUES
As a warning, this armour is not the most top of the line in quality, there will be some ugly parts that you won't notice 90% of the time but I will point them out for the purists and people with extreme OCD.
1. The problematic leather vest clips the back armour of the buttressed metal plate slightly, you won't notice it much, but it will irritate you if you keep playing in third person often, only found on Medium and Light armors.
2. Buttressed Heavy Armour's side plates between your arms will barely clip when using two arms while aiming in third person.
3. Rivets on your Buttressed armour can sometimes clip out of your armor if you play too much with bodyslide outside of the vanilla bodyslide.
4. Some rivets look deformed, I am fine with that considering this is the wasteland so don't expect high end in worn armors like these.
5. The female vanilla raider armour looks fugly when worn with military fatigues or any thick coats. It's not that bad, but it makes the armor look bloated and the few metal pieces that do have meshes slightly stretch the textures enough to give you OCD if you look at them too long.
6. putting the vanilla bodyslider to the fattest while wearing Heavy Buttressed Armour is very funny.
