As you know, bottle caps are the most widely used currency in Wasteland and are the "water standard" currency guaranteed by the Hub. But carrying around a lot of this "scrap iron of value" is heavy, bulky, awkward for everyone, and has problems with breakage and wear and tear. That's why mankind invented paper money.
Isn't it time for someone to re-invent it once more?
Q: And what is this actually? A: These are items that will help you a little when you are selling Purified water and earning caps.
One commonwealth dollar is worth the equivalent of a can of Purified water, and they are interchangeable. There are three denominations: $1, $5, and $10. They all weigh zero. This means you no longer have to actually carry around a lot of water, and if your trading partner's wallet is empty, you can keep the bills in your inventory. Of course, you can also redeem them for water.
Recipes for water to bill and bill to water are included in the Beverages category of the Cooking Station.
(By the way, they can also be broken down as tiny pieces of cloth, just like pre-war U.S. dollar bills.)
I used to use a mod with this kind of functionality, but I couldn't remember the title and couldn't find it again, so I decided to create something similar myself.
