Making Unique Armor little more interesting...
Bethesda created a bunch of purchaseable, legendary armor, primarily as a late-game caps sink, alongside a handful of armors you can get as quest rewards. The problem, is that none of these are actually worth using, except the handful of them that are massively OP. This is curated selection of patches, designed to spice up the games unique legendary armors by replacing them completely with *actual* unique armor and power armor, taken from mods here on the nexus. In some cases, I've also swapped out OP or boring legendaries for ones that fit the weapon a bit better. Some of the sets have been replaced with entirely, with a selection of unique gadgets (thermal goggles, balistic masks, even a legendary dog collar), others have been swapped out for full-body clothing sets, and the remaining sets have had a bonus added, for completing all the pieces of the set.
A replacer patch is available for almost every single unique armor in the game...
The individual patches do the following
- Replace the specific unique with the specified modded armor or power armor
- Disables the modded armor's levelled list and world injection, the modded armor will now only be found as a replacement specific unique.
- Some of them replace the vanilla legendary (see description), or add special Set Bonuses for completing the set.
- Most of them include esl-ified replacer plugins for the mod.
There are patches for almost all of the games legendary armors.
I've also included some of the older alternate versions of the patches in the Old Files section.
All the patches at least are ESL flagged, and won't take up a spot in your load order.
How to Install
Install Vanilla Uniques Framework
Install any patches you want (and any requirements listed for the file)
If you want the entire set, you need to download all the patches in the Main Files section. Yes I know it's annoying, but it's modular by design (and the file description does not have room for a list of 20+ required file links).
Start a new game. Most of the unique weapons spawn as soon as you exit the vault, so if you add this to an existing game, you won't see most of the changes.
Alternative Options
In the Misc Files section, I've included some of alternative patches. These are no longer supported, but I've made them available for people who want them.
This mod relies on Vanilla Uniques Framework to do the replacing. If you already started the game but had that mod in your load order when you did, installing this mod will replace the base item, but not the addons. VUF does include a quest-reset plugin in the misc files, that will allow you to reset the vendor aspirationals in your game.
